How Can We Educate New Warriors On Forum Etiquette?

The replies from Roger (ExRat) in this thread

had me thinking of ways that we can teach new Warriors how to get the most out of this forum and how to avoid making a bad impression.

At first, I thought of making threads like that stickies but then you could end up with the whole of Page 1 being stickies and it would be very intrusive and create a focus on the negative.

Then I got to wondering about the feature this forum has where Allen occasionally directs you to a thread before you can enter the main forum. How about if people with less than 50 posts get directed to the etiquette section where they can read the threads like the one above (but not post on them)? Perhaps there could be a rotation script so they see a different thread each time they log in.

This would also make the spammers work a little harder .

I don't like suggesting an obstacle like this because one of the wonderful things about this forum is how accessible it is, so anybody with any better ideas . . . ?

      Hi Martin,

I'm sure there are many that after seeing 'ExRat' and 'forum etiquette' in the same sentence are left either scratching their heads or pounding the desk It doesn't show in the stats, but I reckon I'm top of a few 'ignore' lists.

      But I get your point...

I think you'd be pleasantly surprised at how much respect you have around these parts Roger... respect doesn't only come from patting people on the back (not that I need to tell you this about respect but I am anyway )..

Only the fickle accept any praise they can get, true warriors know that straight talk is the best way, good or bad.

        Peace

    Martin,

Big Mike's "Warrior Manifesto" would be a good place for newbies to
    start.

A lot of people don't understand general forum etiquette, let alone
the "unwritten rules" of the Warrior Forum.

        Hi Jay,

Thanks mate. But I have apologised on a few occasions when my etiquette was less than professional, hence I'm not the best example. Mr. Taylor is though, who even kept his cool when he was a mod under direct attack from numpties.

Thanks for the support JDM (saw the subscription email ).

Roger that's a stinky reply. However, I recognize the value of the advice for those Numpties who fail to recognize proper etiquette in their post. Boy am I the clever one made a funny and still got back on topic.

I'm with John about reading the Warrior Manifesto and I still send it out to those that ask advice about the WF. In some cases I have had them come back and want to know if they can pass it on and of course the answer is yes.

There is one big green looking guy here in the forum that his wife's favorite term of endearment is "Hey you Big Dumb Ass" Now she can call him a Big Dumb Numptie. That is so cool.

He posted in this thread, guess who?

Are there any "blue print" type, step by step, or checklist posts here or elsewhere that you recommend? I'm completely new to forums and I have a tendency to give away advice that I think most people don't really want.

I humbly ask for advice from those who have the perspective of experience. I am here to learn, and I want, very eagerly to make my entire income from marketing online.

Currently I'm employed as a consultant and have a ways to go before I can do this full time - so, a post titled "Newbies start here" would be refreshing for me.

I don't care what it is I'm supposed to do, I just don't want to spend the next 11 years of my life reading ebooks filled with affiliate offers that teach me the "secrets" lol.
