Newbie : I have 50 dollars To invest

I am a total newbie who is trying to succeed online. I have been online for 1 year ( 10 serious months) and yet to make my first 100 dollars.

I have been struggling but with the help of the warriors I am yet to give up. Yet I need some help. I have 50 dollars in my paypal but don't know what to do with it.

What Do you think, I should use the 50 dollars for?? Besides I will like a review of my first site Discover The Fastest Way To Lose Weight . Do you think The page is good enough, can I do better ?? What more should I do to make the page page as it looks ugly to me.

personally i think the box for info is too big or should have a header in it. What about spending your money on a nice template for your site or for an image for it.

We invest heavily in software that increases productivity.
Image editing, word processing, audio editing, and the
like. Of course, many tools are free. So...

We spend money on services and outsourcing. Even small
amounts can make a big difference. Let "them" handle the
stuff you don't like or can't do well. Then, use the extra
time to do what you do well.

So, consider a wide range of investments: software,
services, outsourcing, and more. Also, consider buying
products that you wish to review, so that you are 100%
authentic and have real experience. This is a great way
to be an affiliate. Demonstrate knowledge and write a
sincere review to drive affiliate sales.

Your opt in box is much too large for what you have in it. It looks like it is missing something.

I think that all you need to train yourself by a successful marketer.
Don't think to spend your 50 dollars yet. I think there are many ways to earn for free. You first have to try for that. Chose some affiliate products.
Thear are many free ways to promote affiliate products. Many peoples are earning a huge money by affiliate marketing.
I personally have spent work at home opportunities like Home Pfofits and inetdataentry But I Just wasted my money and time. So be careful.

"Weight Loss" is a very competitive market. If you are going to attack it, you need more than 3 articles and $50. If you have no money, then you need organic search engine marketing - which in my opinion is best served by placing articles on your site, and on other sites so that the articles link back to your articles.

I looked you up in google, and found 2 problems
    site:weightlossexpert.com - only 1 page is indexed
link:weightlossexpert.com - you have zero links
Solution: you need more links and more content

    1. I would suggest that you focus on metabolism, or something very deep as a niche. An overall plan is nice, but pick one category of the things you talk about and make it "THE" resource on the internet. Here is a 15 minute post/blueprint about how I am doing it (but I've replaced your topic and scaled it down a bit):

    2. Research a list of 20 niche focused words on "weight loss metabolism",
    visit: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
    Type: metabolism
    Click: Get Keywords
    Click: "approx average search volume"

An example of what you'll see:
    metabolism increase
    speed metabolism
    metabolism foods
    speed up metabolism
    metabolism diet
    slow metabolism
    drug metabolism
    fat metabolism
    fast metabolism
    glucose metabolism
    high metabolism
    metabolism weight
    nutrition metabolism
    speed up your metabolism
    cell metabolism
    energy metabolism
    metabolism food
    metabolism vitamins
    boosting metabolism
    foods speed up metabolism

    3. Write 20 or so really good articles based on your research above, optimized for 1 phrase at a time. Each article should a specific call to action, or link to other articles throughout your site. See step "meta refresh" at the bottom of this post.

    4. Write 20 or so teaser articles based on these words that you've researched, include a link back to each "good article". A teaser article explains a problem, builds up the free solution, then tells them where to get the full solution for an irresistible offer (like free)

Remember, use link text that contains a the keyword that your real article is about when you link back to your site. Don't link every page back to your home page, and don't use the word "click here" as link text.

    good: <a href="http://weightlossexpert.com/blog/metabolism-checklist">Metabolism Checklist</a>
    bad: <a href="http://weightlossexpert.com/">click here</a>

    5. Post these teaser articles in the article directories: http://ezinearticles.com, http://goarticles.com, http://squidoo.com,
http://hubpages.com, etc (it doesn't matter where, just get your 20 teaser articles posted all over the place, there are literally thousands of article directories)

At this point you'll have traffic and some search engine results. Time to work on your conversion:

    6. do something to improve your squeeze page, build value, list the benefits of what they'll get (and build them up a bit), include some quality graphics, remove some of the white space, use a call to action, a PS, testimonies, etc. Tell a story that involves the reader and helps them to trust you, and to dream of their success with your solutions. Study other squeeze pages for ideas.

    7. blend your google ads better. They look like advertisements. Use CSS on your links to make them exactly match the google links. Pick an ad format that will perfectly blend with your menu system.

    8. cloak your clickbank stuff. Instead of linking directly to the clickbank affiliate offer from your article, invest in your site by adding a simple meta redirect. This will not help much for search engines, but it will increase your clicks to the other sales letters on clickbank. Here is how you do it.

    8a. In your articles:
    The secret to <a href="your-offer.html">your offer</a>.

8b. Then, create a redirect page called: "your-offer.html":
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net">
<!-- again, sorry the above line should be a real link
    I can't post urls (yet) bleh -->
    <title>your offer keyword goes here</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <h1>your offer keyword goes here</h1>
<p>You are being redirected to your offer keyword goes here</p>
    </body>
    </html>

(the right way to do this is by using "301 redirects", but this will get the job done for now, in the long run though, this will need to be fixed if you expect good serps on these meta refresh pages.)

Link all of your clickbank stuff that way, instead of directly to click bank. When you start making money, consider using a real link cloaking script that counts your links, does a 301 redirect, etc. But for now, that's a free solution you can do. The advantage of this, is that you'll have "aged" pages on your site, and you can make them a real page that fully builds up another cloaked link in the future. (full sales copy, benefits, call to action, etc) For now though, the search engines don't like meta refresh, so don't consider this a "search engine technique", only a "search engine framework for the future that must be modified when possible".

    9. Then, join various weight loss forums and offer free, accurate and valuable advice, with a signature that has a compelling free offer that links back to your site / squeeze page.

    10. Save your $50 for your internet connection bill

    11. After you've done this, it would be wise of you to read something like:
http://aff-masters.sitesell.com/AffMasters.pdf, clickbanks/sitesells free affiliate marketing book (I just started reading it and it looks good, even though it is likely full of commission links and products, it still has a good general sense of knowledge about affiliate marketing)

By the way, I'm currently developing a 301 redirect service on my site (http://clickable.biz) but it's not done yet

I apologize for the spam to your post. Hopefully this full article will help you.

Wow! Its stuff like this that makes this forum such a true ``community``. This is some of the best laid out advice i`ve ever read - and that includes tons of courses and articles!

All said and done, i wholeheartedly agree - save your money and SEO the heck out of your site. After spending months on trying all sorts of shortcuts and new fangled `solutions`` ive learned that the basics really do work the best. Yes it takes time, but the payoff is long lasting and you really learn a lot along the way

    Here's what I'd do:

First off you need a SOLID BUSINESS PLAN.

Go here http://masscontrolsite.com/blog/?p=46 and listen to the 6 hours of audio recorded by "gurus" Frank Kern and John Reese. Get out your iPod (everyone's got one these days right?! and listen to it over a few days. It is packed full of great info - it's a little old (2003) but it still has great content.

Then write down a PLAN and stick to it. $50 can get you FAR!!! But you need to spend it wisely.

If you still haven't got enough information to get started then read:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-kick-one.html

    Or watch:

Continuity Blueprint - The Legend of the Million Dollar Napkin

These are the models I've based my business on and they work!

Don't be discouraged - It took me almost 6 months of long hours and hard work - but now I make sales while I sleep, with virtually no extra effort.

Either way - DON'T USE YOUR LAST $50 BUYING ANY INFORMATION PRODUCTS - there is so much valuable free information available - you just need to take the concepts and model your own business on them.

    My .02

    Doop.

I was thinking of spending about $50 on having articles written for me that I could put on directories. Maybe 15 articles. See I'm not a real good writer but I could take those 15 articles and put them in a different order, maybe change the words around and then put them on a blog. What do you think?

    Excellent post James.

    Two questions.
    1. Should you try to get to the top of the google pile (or near the top) with one key phrase at a time..ie write say 10 articles on "fat metabolism" using "fat metabolism" as your anchor text. Then write 10 articles on cell metabolism etc...each time trying to optimize for a longtail keyword using that particular key word as your anchor text. OR should you just write one article for each phrase and more later if possible OR should you stick with a basic anchor text such as "metabolism tips" and then have your article text optimize for the key phrase such as "cell metabolism"

    2. What if you have a review site with say 10 different weight loss fat burners one for each page. Say pill x, pill y, pill z.....Its really hard to write articles to link to these as they are spam when you mention specific pill name in the article. What do you do in this case.

Thanks again for your post. You have helped clarify things for me that I am doing.

Work 1-3 phrases at a time. 2 of them long tail. Use ezine as the the major funnel, but use hubs, lenses, weebly, knol, blogger, and wordpress.com to link to the articles and your sales page. Interlink them all together with that phrase and you'll be golden. SEO your sales page and then work the links one at a time. You'll be amazed how quickly you can own that phrase.

I'll illustrate how I would do it:
      weightloss.com/increase-metabolism/index.html
(this page links to all of the pages below)

      /increase-metabolism/metabolism-increase.html
      /increase-metabolism/speed-metabolism.html

      /increase-metabolism/metabolism-diet.html
      /increase-metabolism/slow-metabolism.html
      /increase-metabolism/drug-metabolism.html
      /increase-metabolism/fat-metabolism.html
      /increase-metabolism/fast-metabolism.html
      /increase-metabolism/glucose-metabolism.html
      /increase-metabolism/high-metabolism.html
      /increase-metabolism/metabolism-weight.html

      /increase-metabolism/speed-up-your-metabolism.html
      /increase-metabolism/cell-metabolism.html
      /increase-metabolism/energy-metabolism.html
      /increase-metabolism/metabolism-food.html
      /increase-metabolism/metabolism-vitamins.html
      /increase-metabolism/boosting-metabolism.html
      /increase-metabolism/foods-that-speed-up-metabolism.html
(each of these pages link to each other using keywords where appropriate, and they link back to the /increase-metabolism/index.html page using the keyword "increase metabolim" as the anchor text. Don't say "home")

Put a relevant picture on each one using alt text, and good image names.
Make the non relevant images have no alt text, and file names like 1.jpg Do not spam google with irrelevant pictures, that's how they ignore them (1.jpg, no alt text).
Make sure there is a caption on each picture that has related keywords.

When you write each of the articles stem the keyword, example:
      lose weight
      weight loss
      lost weight
      losing weight
      weight losing tips
      get rid of fat
      lose fat
      get skinny
(google thinks of these all as a synonym for the real word "weight loss", and this helps you from spamming with the same word over and over. Just inject them in the article about "weight loss". Obviously these are different for different stemmed phrases)

Lets say I am optimizing for "cell metabolism" one week. Do I wait to "own" it before working another?
Then when I work the next phrase does that become my NEW anchor text? (And change the resource box at Ezines each time?)
How do you know when you "own" the phrase...if you stop using it, wont you lose your ranking at Google?

    Thanks!

If you're looking to add another opportunity to your repertoire , then it's difficult to go wrong with the Online Business Alliance and their $5 franchise. Then lease the
first adspace, which is a 1 up deal which can lead to ongoing $20 payments, without
doing extra work. And any of your customers who don't lease the adspace from you,
can end up feeding you a ton of $20 payments.

But then again, adding a program when you haven't established momentum in the
one you're on now, is often the formula for eternal wheel spinning. Jumping from one
thing to the next every time you get discouraged with the pace of things.

assuming you want to stay with the squeeze page model, I'd try to get that opt-in box above the fold. Visitors may never scroll down enough to see that this a freebie..

After that, I'd write a bunch of articles and start driving traffic to it (as well as social bookmarking, etc). Normaly I'd recommend ppc, but you need to be able to spend some money on testing and that $50 may not be enough.

There are 3 nice bottles of wine that the 50 dollars would make a dent in. Just send it to me.

If you're going to dredge-up a 8 year old post, at least get your facts straight. I have edited your post for those that know the difference between fine wine and Ripple.
