Where can I go online to write articles for money?

I don't want associated content and I don't want anything to do with adsense. I want to write articles and sell them. Adsense and other methods of getting paid like that (please correct me if you're making a living doing it) doesn't to me seem like a plausible way to make a living.
So my question is, where do you go to write articles and sell them? Please give me a couple of different websites.

    Warriors For Hire

Give away a few freebies to get some reviews and you can do well, along with a good chance of capturing some regular clients.

You can sell them here in this forum. Or you can bid for writing jobs at elance.com & freelancer.com

I have a few things to say here. First, adsense and product promotion will make you a ton more than just writing and selling the article. One article can easily make you hundred upon hundreds of dollars over time.

Second, if you want to write and sell your work, then textbroker is a good choice or put up an ad in the warrior for hire section. Also try fiverr and other sites like it.

Put up some samples of your own work, start small (i.e sell articles at low price 1-2$/piece), then slowly raise the price to the normal rate once you get good reviews and referrals coming in.

People who make a lot of money usually aren't that cheapskate and will probably offer you a higher price than what you quote if your work is really good or at least acceptable anyway

I write on infobarrel and hubpages and my own blogs. I find that getting Adsense income is better than selling and writing for others. Even though that is how I started. You can make more money by building niche blogs and then selling them or promoting products.

There are a plethora of legitima business models online where you can leverage your passion for writing.

hm...interesting approach. I'm not so sure why you don't think Adsense is a plausible way to make a living. It's a very viable and necessary way. It'll probably never go away, and, no matter how big Google gets, they'll always wants and need advertisers and publishers.

I think if you're looking to start out strictly "writing for hire" you might want to try textbroker .com and londonbrokers. These sites provide writing assignments and you can make a few dollars pretty quickly. Londonbrokers pays weekly.

Don't dismiss the idea of residual income from your writing once you get started, long term residual income will always outweigh the short term, it just takes longer.

I think that if you are willing to pay for a job you will get much better money and more for articles, ofline and online, than these freelance directories.
