DLGuard or something else?

My access to DLGuard upgrades and support has expired and it costs $67 a year to renew.

I am wondering if there are any cheaper and equivalent alternatives to handle digital download delivery management. I would prefer to just pay a 1-time amount for buying the script and have continuous access to support (which I never had to use so far in the case of DLGuard) and upgrades.

Any suggestions/recommendations?

    Thanks for the input.

But e-junkie's basic plan starts at $5 a month and that's limited to 10 products and 50 MB.

DLGuard is much better if we take a period of say, 1 year.

One option is to continue using the version of DLGuard
    that you currently have.

If you haven't required any support so far, and don't
think that you'll need to in the near future - then you
can still use DLGuard at no extra cost to you.

If a major update comes along or you need support on
a critical DLGuard issue, then just upgrade at that point.

    Dedicated to mutual success,

      ^^^^^^^
This ... I never need support and my version keeps on working without an upgrade. When an upgrade comes along that I might want, I may upgrade, but it's not necessary.

I'm using getdpd.com. They have a bunch of very interesting services like: discount coupons, possibility to have affiliates, you can mark the pdfs with the paypal details of the buyer in order to prevent sharing, etc.

And if you sell 10 different products or less it only costs $5/month which I think it's very cheap.

    Hope this helps!

Won't you have the same issues once their support expires??

And you might want to take a look here----> SiteManPro

It's free for one installation or $40 for unlimited domains.

True. But I figured that if am going to keep renewing, it better be a full featured script like DAP that lets me also create membership sites along with managing digital downloads delivery.

SiteManPro looks interesting, never heard about this before. Will bookmark it for future need.

I just downloaded it this weekend. I'll post my experiences but it looks promising.

Sitemanpro is def a cool option
(full disclosure: I am the marketing director at Sitemanpro)

Shoot me any questions about SMP that you might have sridhar
and I'll make sure they get answered.

I've been really testing the limits of the SMP platform over the last month and a half (for personal use and a better understanding of the product) and I would love to help out.

I was thinking of using DL Guard for my new PLR site that is going up in February and I thought the price was pretty good, however I didn't realize you have to pay for upgrades every year. I really wanted to use them because I feel that they cal protect my download links from being stolen. I appreciate all the info here. I"ll look around before making my final decision.

SMP looks interesting, but does it also protect your downloads?

Like Rhonda we have a PLR site in the works, and wer thinking of either MDD or DLGuard, but haven't found any system yet that clearly allows for a choice by the purchaser.
Does anybody have any suggestion, we want to allow people to select any 10 from 100 rather than a set package, if that's possible?

For only $67 for a whole year, just knowing Sam is there when you need him is reason enough to keep DLGuard. Cheap insurance.
