Default Where is the best place to sell a domain name?

Where is the best place to sell a domain name? There is no website attached to it. The domain name that I want to sell is posted in my signature.

Thanks

Before someone tells me that I should look in the Warrior search for this answer, let me be more specific.

I am wondering if an internet marketing domain, like the one that I have, has a better chance of being sold in a specific domain selling place or are all domain names, regardless of their content, sold in the same place.

I hope this makes sense.

I have never used the domain name. I don't know how to figure out how much it is worth to sell on eBay.

Thanks. When you say a general idea... have you sold domains for a value close to what SwiftAppraisal claimed? The number it came up with for mine seems high. Well, let's just say I'd be doing the happy dance if I could get that much!

Anne,

It really depends on how you answer each question which can be a little tricky. Try it a couple of times answering the questions just a little bit different.

Mine ranged from $150.00 - $2,000.00

Elizabeth

I am giving it a shot on eBay for the lower price and see what happens.

I would suggest that you try to add a wordpress blog to it, or some type of site.

I tried names alone on Sitepoint, but when I added a site and showed stats and SEO value, I think the value is more. Instantly there were bids on my name auction.... (Shameless plug --> Pharma Site | 4 Domain Names Total! )

Brandon,

Thanks for the tip. I like the listing that you have on SitePoint. I can see the value of adding the name to a blog or website because then you can list it as a "start up" website, rather then just a domain name.

After I read this thread, I went to my email and received a free report on Flipping Websites. It also recommended SitePoint, which I poked around and it certainly seems to be where people are going to buy domains and websites. After discovering that my 'starter website' has a totally anemic PR rating of 1 and thinking about some content that I have that I could just chop up and use in blog posts, I think I will do that for the next 1 - 2 months, as well as planting a few backlinks to it and THEN sell it off in 2009.

Brandon Johnson, REALLY nice guy. Wow, you must be nice. The REALLY is in caps!

Sitepoint seems to attract more serious buyers. You can also try digitalpoint forum too but they're more looking for start up bargains, depends how much you want for your site and how much you're willing to build and develop it.
