Is the google keywords tool actually accurate or is it over hyped?

There are differences in Broad match figures... sometimes you can see that the figures are rounded.

Best to correlate your results with a second program. Sometimes you need to approach a niche differently to gauge the number of browsers.

Sometimes it's not the NUMBER of viewers that count, but the disposable money they have to let the problem (in the niche) go away.

Sometimes you need start at the bottom: create a blog or site in the chosen market and publish content. Scour your AWSTATS list or Google Analytics to know what people search for, this is MUCH more accurate than taking other figures on face value.
Then you just build more content on those searched for terms people found your website for. Do this for a few months and you have spiders fighting over your site :-) This really works.

I would say that none of the keyword tools are accurate. Look at my blog in my sig line where I posted about this and how you can get the real numbers from google.

      Cheers

when I ran 2 sets of KW (about 200x 2) in google [exact match], wordtracker (at nichebot) , and niche inspector the google counts were much higher.

I did notice that keywords with a lot of searches did seem to show as highly searched in all 3.

I still like google for the words it chooses though. I also give crediblity to google KW with high CPC cost. It is something of an indication the word may convert well, though not absolute.

anybody else run similar comparisons? It is easy at the bottom of the google KW results to click the list out to a csv file with excel. If you pull the exact search and want to get rid of the brackets just run find with your bracket and replace with a blank empty replace. You have to do that if you want to copy/paste the list into another tool.

I do lots of KW research for niches and wonder if there would be much of a market for some videos on this? it seems like there is a lot of similar stuff already.

How about you just test the keywords out with Adwords. Seems like the smart thing to do, eh?
