how long it took me to make my first $100 online

The reason why the success rate in affiliate marketing is extremely low thats because everybody is trying to show you how to make money here and there but no one teach how to be successful... making money online is a form of success if you dont learn how to be successful, Its highly unlikely that you're going to make any money... (confusing)

It took me 3 years of struggle, pain, being scammed, spammed to death, feeling worthless, before I was able to start seeing any money...
These 3 years taught me how to be successful and it's been 2 1/2 years now, my income keep getting more and more (beautiful) day after day

If you're new to the internet marketing industry and you have absolutely no experience.. let me be honest with you.. It will take you time.. if you just lost your job or you got fired, that might speed up the process, but it might still take you time.

so.... Numereo uno..

Here's what you need to be successful
1. Autonomy: have the desire to direct your own life.... Start hating your boss today.. or (maybe not)
2. Mastery: The desire to get better and better everyday.. Dont sleep until you get it done.. Dont give up until you get it right.
3. Purpose : Why are you doing this? Why are you here? Get a why that can make you CRY.

Now.....
How to make your first $100 online?
Step 1. Have a clear Goal
Step 2. Stick to one method.
Step 3. Repeat step 1 and 2

Yeah I know that was quick but that's all you really need... Once you get these things done.. everything else will follow through...

P.S. If you dont mind... can you help me with this survey.

Gracias in advance

Great post Jay. I'll have a look at that survey

Edit: checked out the survey, but wouldn't let me post it to you until I answered what I needed help with. And without trying to sound like a know it all.. I don't feel affiliate marketing is my weakness. I just think your post was a good starting point for a noob - and kudos to you for posting it.

No offense, but this may be why it took you 3 years of struggle. You can not stick to one method in Internet Marketing. You have to constantly be throwing up new methods. Then discarding the ones that don't work and expanding the ones that do.

One of the largest hurdles of becoming successful, not only in Internet Marketing, is knowing when to fold a bad hand. If you can learn to do that efficiently, then you'll be successful.

I did not copy this from someone, this is my life experience.. I respect your opinion But I know what has worked for me... It took me 3 years throwing up new methods... and if you tell people who are starting up what you just told me.. You might end up failing them big time, because just like everyone else they will be running in a circle..

I hate to point out the obvious, but if you didn't try new methods, then you wouldn't have found the one that's working for you now. There are a lot of methods out there that simply do NOT work. There are a lot more methods that don't work than do. So if people follow your advice, then chances are very high that they'll never find success.

And ps - this is my life experience as well. Coming from someone that has pulled 6 figures from the internet for over a decade now. The internet is ever changing, and those that are the most successful are those that are constantly adapting to it. - ie - multiple methods.

I disagree strongly with this one. Plenty of people teach you how to be successful. At least, that's what I've experienced, and that's what I do myself.

It's just so easy to blame everybody else for not succeeding.

Glad you disagree.. But no one can teach you how to be successful. Because there is no clear path to success.. No one can take your hands and walk you down this ISLE of success... This just not exist.. However if you have autonomy, mastery and purpose.. You will become successful..

Jay you see it all the time with the "I need to earn $10,000 in 3 weeks" threads.

Newbies come here expecting us folks to hand them the gold keys to Internet Marketing stardom. They don't want to do much work and they don't want to wait, they want it now!

A huge trick to succeeding online like you said is sticking to one method for a few months to see if you make any money. Unfortunately most people cannot stick to anything longer than 5 minutes, then they wonder why they can't get the results they need.

If newbies just tried to sit back, step away from all the noise and try and make their first few bucks online, they'd be half way to success. Then all they need to do is keep chipping away and do some work daily on their sites and the income will keep rising.

However a lot of people seem to think there is some big secret magic button that makes thousands of dollars fall in their lap instantly.

This stuff takes work, a heck of a lot of work for most of us. Once you do the necessary work, you can then take it a lot easier. (if you create residual income streams)

The truth is, once you start earning consistent money online, everything becomes much clearer.

You'll know how to get traffic

You'll know to stick to a new method and not give up realizing things take time to settle and grow

And you'll have a much clear mind and a lot of confidence.

....but it all starts with that first $1

Thanks for the survey. That was fun. Your post is informative as well as confirming. It's confirming because I already know this. So, thanks for confirming these facts for me. I'm ready to stick with one thing now and focus. Of course, quitting is NOT an option! All the best to you.

I think that sucess is so low because people expect things to happen over night, most people dont have the patience to do things themselves. Like you say it has taken you three years to get to where you are today and alot of people expect you to give them everything you have learned for free!

Obviously anyone who has spent time and money mastering marketing is not really going to share everything they know (and why should they). They would just be increasing their competition and giving themselves more work to do in finding new methods.

    Thats what i think anyway.

You know the original post has really hit some BIG nail on the head. The problem is with so much 'out there' on the net, it is too easy to get distracted and try and jump on the next big thing. The more I learn, and do, no more it becomes obvious that keeping focused is key. I was just listening to Yanik Silver talk about this this morning... so good timing. Another confirmation.
