It has been used successfully by a lot of people you just have to use it correctly. If you dont know much about adwords you need to start small and bid low with very small daily budgets.

I was thinking about this but not sure I'm just ready yet and wanted to wait a little longer before jumping in with adwords.

I've been watching some traffic building videos with good information on blog posts targeting keywords with little competitition and big search rates, I think if you've got a blog that is getting good traffic with some good back links it should be easy to target these keywords. I'm going to try this for building more traffic to my blog from search engines.

I have a website that has a very specific set of keywords that I think would be the first site I would use with PPC but I've only just come up with teh idea and everything is going to take a while longer before I can start.

    Good Luck.

I've set up my first campaign and will be trying it with a very limited budget shortly. It's really just to get a feel for how it works. I want to be prepared when I have something substantial to roll out.

Do you know the "buy" keywords people type in to find your site?

You already have a decent set of keywords that you've found to be of value. That would be your first port of call, but don't stop finding other keywords that may produce better results.

It's always a good idea to use SEO keywords you know works well and use those to spend PPC money on. But always use a tracking program (Google analytics) to know if a keyword produced sales).

As long as the blog has 1 focused message and tells
the visitor WHAT to do and HOW to do it you should be
able to make money this way.

Paying for traffic to a rambling blog full of adsense and banner
ads is not something I would recommend.

I wouldnt send visitors from adwords to a page that has adsense. I would be careful with that, but that could just be my own superstition. If you need any help with adwords, let me know. Im pretty good with it, and am playing with the idea of coaching some as well.

    Devan,

What is on your blog? What is the topic? Are you selling anything on it? Or are you hoping that they will click on your ads?

Just be careful with adwords...I got cleaned out my first few months because I didn't know what the heck I was doing. I was stupidly paying 3-5 bucks per click on general keywords that probably brought untargeted traffic anyway. I saw the stats on my blog...90% of my visitors were spending 0-30secs on it. If I had a deeper break down of the time, I would guess they just spent 5 seconds on it. hahahaha!

Personally id never send any adwords traffic anywhere but a landing page for either an optin, purchase or affiliate click thru.

Anything else is just wasting money in my opinion

I have personally never used Adwords to sent traffic to a blog
as I don't think it's needed. you can easily get tons of traffic
    for free without Adwords.

Why bother wasting money on sending traffic via adwords to a blog? You can use tons of free marketing methods that are more cost effective than using adwords, blogs tend to get ranked a lot quicker than regular websites and there are so many great plugins/tools that can also help bring your blog lots of traffic.

Save your money and don't use adwords for driving traffic especially to a blog, I hope your blog doesn't have adsense either , driving traffic via adwords to a blog with adsense is a big no no as well.
