Anyplace for ecommerce like what StomperNet used to be?

Are there any places that do for ecommerce folks what StomperNet used to do?

I know they are still around but it doesn't look like they are focused on ecommerce any more.

I left StomperNet about two months ago, but most of the moderators had a strong ecommerce background. How much focus do you need ?

One thing I do miss from there was the almost total lack of noise; people there weren't there for chit-chat but rather to build their business. I was hoping for something like that here, but it looks like I've been spoiled rotten by StomperNet!

A lot of people are here to build their businesses too Marvin but this is a much more open community that allows people to become better friends and form longer lasting relationships.

I'm also a member of StomperNet I find this place better, despite also having a large E-commerce business. Nothing against StomperNet either, I like it very much, I've just had more success since being here. though I have admittedly, been trying to do different things here.

May I ask why you left StomperNet and came here, in light of it being for to your liking there? For the now low price and the tools you get, I'm surprised you left.

I'm not sure what you mean by saying this is a much more open community, etc. I've pretty much found that we only get out of any community what we put into it.

The main reason I left was a lack of customer service. They had/have some issues with their website, and I've lost service due to their problems twice ... both times without any notifiication. I only found it was their their problem the first time when an email from Andrea was sent out explaining what was going on. And that was after three or four days without service. The second time, I contacted customer service three times, each time with no response. The last time when I asked them to cancel my subscription ... they responded promptly. That kind of customer service is unacceptable.

The only thing I really miss is access to people who I know are walking their talk. It is much harder to tell here.

On the other hand, I see a lot more ideas here, both good and bad , than I did at StomperNet.

BTW, in case it sounds like it, I am not knocking anything here. If I was, I'd be voting with my feet .

That's kind of what I mean't. At Stomper I've not made as many friends and no doubt because maybe I put less into it. I just find it more of a community here, that's not to say you will.

When I first arrived I had a problem with my site. One of the most respected people here got straight on Skype and spent an hour showing me what to do.

Maybe it's just me but I've sussed out the people that are successful here and they're very approachable. I'm not saying either is better, they're 2 completely different monsters. I just prefer it here and I do know who to watch and who to ignore.

Sorry you had a bad experience there, they have some really great tools and it's a great place, I'm just saying for me, in just my opinion, I prefer it here.

I also didn't think you were knocking this place either.

Stompers are also very helpful. I know I'm not the only one, but I spent an hour or two on the phone helping someone sort out a computer problem before I left.

We all have our strengths and weaknesses ... it is just a matter of focusing on strengths as opposed to limitations.

I think some of the people here have really good perspective on business building. It has taken me a month or so to figure out who they are though .

Some of their free videos I seen were totally amazing and very clear and simple to follow I figured once you join their site would have the same kind of structure.

The one thing I found lacking in Stomper.net was clear instructions on where to begin once you've joined.

I really need a starting point and finishing point under each topic.

Then I could go through what I need and skim over what I already know.
In stomper.net I found it very confusing because its like a library full of great information but where to start?

Videos everywhere, recordings everywhere and mostly from 2008 and 2009.

Dont get me wrong its fantastic content and in my point of view probably the #1 place to learn SEO but and a big BUT theres no A-Z there.
              Start here - finish here

That would be such a HUGE time saver for me and I assume for many others.

And a better bang for my buck! since I would be able to go through things a lot easier and faster.

When I set up one of their tools Market Samurai it only gave me the FREE TRIAL version. Full access to the software but limited for 12 days. (suppose to receive the full version with the stomper.net membership) so I emailed support both at market smaurai and stomper.net and received replies back very quickly all THREE times I emailed each of them. yes 6 emails over 3 weeks. and all six times they responed they would take care of it.

Problem hasn't been solved but I still have FREE access to the full version so not a big deal but I really don't understand how this possibly could be such a difficult problem to solve.

I really would love to learn a lot more SEO & ecommerce from stomper but since I dont know where to begin or where to finish its just way too much work to try to find the inforamtion I'm looking for.

Why they don't organize this all for their users I don't know. It couldn't be that difficult to do could it?

I haven't come across any places that are, what Stompernet used to be. The best you'll find are forums that have a section devoted to e-commerce, that might be pretty active. But in most of those cases, there are only a handful of posts per week.

Stompernet 2006-2007 was premier E-commerce training. Andy/Brad both ran e-commerce stores and had faculty members that were in charge of teaching and testing in their own stores. Now that brad is divorced from his wife and doesn't own MWF anymore and Andy is gone, they don't really even do e-commerce (traditional shopping stores) anymore. Plus, most of their really successful store owners don't post there regularly. A lot do, but most don't.

Hmm... well by the way you phrased your question, the only people who can answer it, is people who were in Stompernet at least a few years ago? Perhaps you phrased it in a more generic way -- I'm looking for a service/membership club that offers x, y, and z.

BTW --what IS Stompernet focused on these days, if not ecommerce??
