Back up your files!!!

Heard a couple of horror stories today of how some IM'ers wesbite got hacked and wished they backed up their files before.

I am new to IM and would like to know if Hostgator has online back up for wordpress and if it doesnt what are some ways to back up all your wordpress work?

    You can install a backup plugin on each blog and have the backup emailed to you weekly, that's what I do. I've never had to use any yet but it's good to have them there just in case

    Hostgator are suppose to backup all your files every 24 hours I think it is. You may want to double-check that with them. So worst case scenario you can just have them roll it back to a few days ago if anything ever happened to your account or websites.

    I have a dedicated server with them that has two separate Hard Drives, one is solely used for backup purposes. It backs up the main hard drive daily just incase. Every now and then I will also download all those files so I have a copy somewhere else as an extra backup.

    Something I want to setup but haven't got around to is having your server send a backup of all the files to your Amazon S3 account daily. It can be done quite easily from what I hear. I would feel very confident having a backup of all my files on the Amazon S3 server as well.

    A combination of On-line back-up services and regular back-up on external hard drives is a good way of being prepared against all such problems for IM'ers.

    does back-uping files can be done in minutes?

    anyway, yeah you right better to back-up not just all you computer files but also your wordpress on the server.
