Shopping Cart Suggestions?

Hey all,

I'm currently using 1Shoppingcart pro. It's good, but too expensive IMHO. I'm looking for a more reasonable alternative.

here's what I need:

* Digital product delivery
* Integration with authorize.net
* fairly simple setup

the affiliate modules and autoresponders are nice, but not absolutely vital for me.

Your suggestions will be most appreciated. Thanks!

    I dont know if it will help, but I found the shopping cart Prestashop just the other day, it is open source.

      re" DL Guard

      Thanks, that looks really interesting as well. I sell both physical and downloadable products. Would DL guard offer a simple buying experience for both types of purchasers? And, as with Interspire, was it easy to set up?

      BTW -- this is why I love this forum -- late on a Saturday night & I get great advice for an issue that's on my mind in a matter of minutes. Bless this place!

    I agree that DLGuard is a fantastic option for digital downloads with all the payment processor options you could want. It has been around a long time with version upgrades that keep it free of bugs and user-friendly. It can also be used for membership sites when you stamp pages with the special code (which would probably also work together with site builders like XSitePro-version2).

    If you want long-range centralization of your online marketing efforts with a huge (and growing) variety of usage options, of course there are top of the line options like John Delavera's Fantasos (JVManager2), which is now a little pricey for a full license, but usage rights are included in his huge TurboMembership package (monthly price about to go up again soon). My understanding is that his team is working on expanding the shopping cart functionality further (even more than it has currently).

    Hi jonb,

    A little known shopping cart that serves all the purposes you requested and is easy to set up is Mal's Ecommerce. You can intergrate Authorize.net and serve both physical and digi products from very simple yet powerful interfaces. I have tried many shcarts in the past and been disappointed with the high fees, poor documentation, or difficulty setting up etc.

    I have not yet been disappointed by Mal's. I use it happily and it is very flexible and highly scalable. They offer both free and premium services which is so rare online. The free is great if you don't use payment gateways like Authorize.net et al, if you do, get the premium which goes for just $86 or so for 12 months, compared to 1shoppingcart that's a killer price.

    Keep in mind though for $99 a month with 1shoppingcart you do get a ton of other services. But Mal's is strictly a shopping cart period. Mal's also has a rather advanced affiliate tracking system attached to both the free and premium carts.

    If you use their premium service they also give you the option of handling transactions direct from your desktop when you install a small piece of software you can download from their site anytime.

    All in all, take it from me, I'm a very picky person when it comes to gadgets and gizmos, for me to be using and endorsing Mal's ecommerce says a lot.

    Get Mal's ecommerce at: Mal's e-commerce - A FREE Shopping Cart Service

    You need to sign up for a free account first and then when you're inside you'll see the Upgrade To Premium button in the top right hand corner, just follow the instructions from there.

    One advantage to being able to get a fully functioning free account is that you can just scurry over there right now and test it out as much as you like (without Authorize.net but with Paypal and others). If you like it, upgrade, if not, you'd have only spent very minutes doing research.

    Anyway, you have other well known choices, so I hope you find something that fits.

    Cheers,
