Forced Myself Into Video Marketing

Last week, I forced myself to do a Flip video for my blog. It was intimidating, but my daughter, Tiffany, says that some people prefer watching a video, while some prefer reading.
I just wanted to let you all know that using the Flip is really simple -- has to be for a 'boomer' like me. It's a tiny little device and mine fits on a little, adjustable tripod.
With just a few clicks of the buttons to 'start' and end the process, you've got yourself a video. I think it's a great marketing tool. It's so easy to plug in to your computer and then upload the video.
After the video is uploaded, you can 'share' it with a number of options, including You Tube, Facebook, etc. From You Tube, I plugged it into my blog and "Voila!", it was done.
I think the hardest part was putting myself out there for all to see and hear, but thanks to you guys I'm become more proficient in that every day.
Ya'll might want to try the Flip to boost your IMing experience -- and sales!

    Just remember that you don't have to be a professional speaker to speak your thoughts. People will relate more to you if they have a face and voice to go with your writing. Good for you for putting yourself out there!

    Ye well done. your daughter is right, video is an excellent method of engaging with people. The whole point of your blog is to develop and maintain the relationships with the people who read it and what better way than to let them see and hear you.

    There are a lot of people currently in the same situation as you and I bet you're having fun aren't you?

    I love video blogging and haven't been doing nearly enough of it lately. You'll be amazed how many people approach you like they know you personally after they've seen a few of your videos. It's a great relationship builder and for anyone looking to build a real solid business that's a very good thing

    I am switching to video marketing I hate writing copy and I can click more with the prospects through offering a voice and face-gives the realistic impression as opposed to the surreal impression via writing.

    I am proud of you that is a fantastic step!

    Craig Desorcy told me for TWO years to get my butt into video marketing but I, like many people (especially women), worried about my looks.

    Then finally I realized my marketing blog was not meant to be Playboy - people weren't coming to see my looks - they were coming to learn marketing.

    And really, look around you today - how many REALLY knock out people do we see in our daily lives? Not many - most of us are average and everyone can relate to us.

    Good for you for pushing yourself sooner than 2 years down the road.

      I like using video too, but for an entirely different purpose. I like to show people things I'm having a problem with. Then they can see what is happening and help me fix it quickly.

      I don't load these up to uTube, but use Jing instead. Easy to use, but not as sophisticated as Camtasia. I think it's Camtasia's little sister. No aff link.

    I love using video! I shoot most of my "on screen" stuff with a flip ultra hd. The quality isn't bad but, when I edit it through IiMovie it suffers a bit of quality loss.

    No matter - video marketing is great but, like you said not everyone likes video and some still like to read. Honestly though, it really depends on your niche. I deal with a few niches where videos just flat out sucked and the written word trumped the videos I was using.

    I'm just so happy for you Beverly that you were able to step out and try something new. I know it can be a little uncomfortable and awkward but, it's so much easier.

    Well done. People prefer to work with those who are familiar to them. I get comments from people who say they feel like they know me after watching my vids. I couldn't do that with a million articles.

    My band mate told me I should get a flip camera for doing acoustic performance videos and such. How's the quality in both video and sound? I see it's about $150. I've seen those commercials quite often for it on television, maybe it's something I should look into.

    Right now I've just been using my webcam when I do content videos, plus a decent microphone to pick up the sound clean, so it sounds good but the webcam obviously lacks a bit.

    But yeah, video marketing further humanizes you to your audience and nurtures the relationship, always a good thing!
