How to SPY on 500 million people

I think I have just stumbled on a competive marketing tool, I was looking to add some facebook apps Recommendations - Facebook Developers and when I used this tool I thought hey lets try my competitors url to see what is most recommended from their website so I can write a topic about the most recommended subject.

enter height 800 and it will reveal more recommendations

Sounds interesting but not sure I really understand how to use this or what you really achieve. Can you shed some light?

I think what he is saying is you type in any website address into the domain box, change the height from 300 to 800, then press the 'Get Code' button. Once you have done that a popup box will appear. Simply close the popup box by clicking on 'Okay' and look at the recommendations box on the right hand side of the page.

You will now see all the content, if any, from that website that has been shared by users of Facebook. It will also show you how many people have shared each page or piece of content. So you can see what is popular on other websites and create similar content on your own website.
