Quality Backlinks

Hi to all

Im having a bit of trouble getting backlinks, i think im doing what i can to acheive backlinks but if any one could give me some useful advice it would help,
At the moment what i am doing is article submission, site directory, news letters and filling my site with good content but i am still not getting backlinks any advice.

It can take time to build backlinks. It sounds like you are definitely doing some of the right stuff. Have you checked out Angela Edward's WSO?

Also, if you use SEO addon for Firefox, you can see where your competitor's get backlinks, and go to the same places.

One effective way is to write articles for more than directories. See if similar webpages would like an article on a topic for free, it would just have to include a link to your webpage.

Are you doing this for a blog or website?

For my blog I'm doing a lot of social stuff, blog comments, forums, bookmarking and trying a few blog gadgets like mybloglog to add friends and join communties. I'm also going to be using some articles and blog carnivals in the near future.

I'm starting a website/blog/product soon outside Internet Marketing related niches and was going to try my luck at a good quality press release and some PPC along with everything I'm doing for my blog and Internet business related products.

  Don't forget about videos too...
  
  Create a video with just about anything, even if it is just a slide show of one of your articles or you can put something more complex together. Once you do that, distribute it to all of the video sites. Normally, you can get a good influx of traffic along with a couple really good backlinks as well.

  Yeah, you get a backlink, but maybe consider taking it a step further and using a software like video post robot (never used it) or a service like tubemogul or heyspread to take that same video and upload it to a bunch of sites just like you tube.

Don't forget to submit to directories too.
List of 11,000 Web Directories - Free, Paid, Niche and Regional Directory Listings lists over 11,000 by pagerank, and whether they are free or paid.

Good point! I've used those type of directories to get great rankings on Yahoo - never gave me much of a boost with Google though.
