Question about contry specific host

Hi Warriors,

I am looking to target specific country, i.e. .co.au, .fr, .co.uk etc

Does it matter what country a host is in. I was looking to go for HostGator for the cPanel, cost etc, but does it matter that it is predominantly US, or does that even matter?

    your server Ip does matter to some extent but wont probably make a whole lot of difference unless yo are in an extremely competitive niche and you cant seem to break the resistance in ranking for a while. in this type of situation, your server Ip can give you an edge.

    usually geo targeted seo requires server Ip to be form the same country as the targated visitor geo but that would be the last thing i would worry myself. just register the domain with proper extension and do all other things you need for geo targeting (domain, links form co.uk sites or UK IPs if you are targeting UK traffic, etc) and you should be Ok in most cases
