ehow.com has not had a platform for writers since last year. All articles now at ehow.com come from Demand Studios. And you cannot promote your own sites there.

EZA is known as the best of the article directories. But you may also want to promote and share your content on sites where you share in the revenue such as Infobarrel, Hubpages and others. It can be a nice source of additional income.

Most marketers consider ezinearticles.com to be the top article directory. I also use articlesbase.com with success. You can also reuse your content in different formats to get the most mileage out of it. So, for example, you can take your articles, turn them into "article videos" and upload them to YouTube and some of the other video sites. That's just for starters.

Ezinearticles.com is the go to place for all things articles, their rules are a little bit stricter than other article directories. You can always google 'article directories' and find a list naming the top directories there.

    ezinearticles.com
    articlebase.com
    goarticles.com
    ideamarketers

There's a start. Don't get too trigger happy and go submitting them to all the other hundreds of less authoritative article sites. Just stick to a little bunch of the best 4-5.

But as another poster mentioned, your article can then be turned into a narrated powerpoint video which could be uploaded to all the video sites. You can then take the audio from that video and upload it to all the podcast sites. You can then take the powerpoint slides from that video and upload it to the slide sharing sites... and so on. So you can see the power one article can have when you think a little further outside the square.

I find that ezine articles definitely beats out all other article directories in terms of direct traffic.

After ezine accepts your article, if you're looking for backlinks, you can use the same article, spin it, and submit it to the other article/web 2.0 directories...

Or even better, take the same article, DO NOT SPIN IT, and submit it to some other article directories. Why does everyone think you need to spin your articles to submit them to other directories? Unless the directory specifically states they will not accept articles that have been published elsewhere then it is all a waste of your time. Don't make more work for yourself than absolutely necessary.
