A Suggestion For Membership Site Retention From Me As A Membership Site Member
I remember I had to get in direct contact with the administrators of one membership site to cancel. It was easy to cancel but I had to e-mail or call. They offered me a free month so I accepted, a month rolled by, I forgot to cancel, I got rebilled.
The whole reason I wanted to cancel is because I did not need the membership anymore. I did utilize the membership for the free additional month though... Ultimately cancelled about 2-3 months later because I simply did not see the need for it anymore.
Just wanted to share that story. Perhaps it can be a very effective incentive to get members to stay (was with me - would have been more effective if the site had stuff I needed). In that free month you can promise them a bonus shortly after the rebill date to make them forget to cancel and hopefully fulfill their need for your membership site and justify the cost.
