Hi all, I m looking for advice on marketing to my list in 2009.I have a list which is 450 strong who joined via a Sports Trading Card website I have. This site has inforation about the Trading card market and makes it's money via ebay sales , adsense and affiliate products. I also have some other sports related websites I could prmote to this list. My first question is ... Is it alright to promote these other sites to my list that joined up via the trading cards website. They are very closely related sites. How much is too much. How often would you or do you promote to your list. Any advice on ways to promote to your list. Any creative suggestions or clever ways to get your list interested. Hopefuly some replies will be of use to all on the forum. Thanks in Advance Peter Thompson ( Australia ) |

Treat your list like royalty. I wince when people put the emphasis on "marketing to my list". With attention, your subscribers will stay with you for years, so think of your list from your subscribers' point of view. Would you stay on a list where you're just a prospect? My tips: * Be real, sincere, and genuine. No matter how large or small your list, speak to one individual, your ideal reader... Think about what this person wants from YOU. How can you help him or her?; * Let your readers know what to expect: how many mailings, and your schedule for contacting them; * Ask them what they want. (They may not know.); * Schedule your mailings. Keep to the schedule; * Focus on building your relationships and trust with every mailing you send; * Think of your relationship with your list as long term. Create goals for your list; * You'll learn FROM your list, so encourage them to contact you. In brief, give, and you'll receive. Your list is made up of real people, with real needs. Fulfill those needs, and you'll find that yes indeed, "the money is in the list." Cheers Angela |
