Are Affiliates allowed more than 1 CB Account?

hey warriors,

I only promote products as an affiliate, I'm not a vendor

I thought I can only have one CB account, but have read where other have multiple accounts...

Can you do this? and if so more importantly how?
I went through their FAQ's and found nothing about multiple
affiliate accounts?

Dano~

As far as I know, yes, you can have multiple accounts. I have a few. the deal is you have to qualify for payment with each account.

Yes, you can sign up for multiple accounts as an affiliate, just as you did for your first one.

thanks dan( great name by the way!

can you give me just a bit more detail as to how to proceed?
that's the missing piece of the puzzle for me

I remember about a year ago I wanted to change my CB ID name
and they said to close one acct, then open another

at the time I never bothered to ask about having a second one, but there isn't any info within
cb showing how to proceed on that point

Yep, you can have multiple accounts! Having multiple accounts can be really handy to test conversion (one account per traffic source).

To qualify for payment you just need to have the threshold and I believe it's 3 different types of payment methods received to qualify. If customers all pay with Paypal then you don't get paid until you get a Visa and Mastercard also - or something to that affect, if you have one account you probably would have done that before you received your first payment.

So if you open another account you just need to have those three payment methods again before you will receive a payment.

I'm not sure about SS and bank accounts, but I would just try it and if you can't do it I'm sure it will bring up an error or something.

The customer threshold is a rule that stops inactive accounts. An inactive account is an that has not received payment of any sort in 90 days. If your account is inactive, 2$ will be deducted each pay period.

To qualify for a paper cheque, you must have over 2 different methods of payment over at least five sales. Then the payment is dispacted

I had an account with just over $100 in it but didn't have the 3 types of payment. Then they started deducting $5 every pay period and when it got down to $50 balance they just deducted the full $50 leaving me with zero - that's just wrong! That's just theft!

Ditto, this happened to me, i made 5 sales, had about $89, then it went down to zero, i wish they would change that rule, i never knew about tracking etc, so did not know where the sales came from, so could not replicate.

Thats what made me give up when i first started IM years ago, until i gave it another shot.

I know you can have more than one account with Clickbank, including a Vendor account if you have a product.

I have multiple accounts, as far as I know you can have as many as you want. Get qualified for payment in them all is a real pain though (as previously mentioned)

You can certainly have more than one account with Clickbank. It would be helpful if you had a business partner in another niche or something. This way you could track income by accounts, but really if it is just you, than you can get by on one account.

Is getting qualified really that difficult? Is it because most people just use PayPal these days or is there something else to it?

jarius when I spoke to the guy at CB a couple of weeks ago, he said that multiple accts were not a problem, and even recognized it as a good way to keep things "separated"

But just as (I think this is the criteria, more or less) you need 5 sales with two different payment methods(deters fraud) before you get payed on your acct, the same criteria holds for each acct you open

Yes, there's no restriction on the number of affiliate accounts you can have, there's no cost for opening them, and there can be many advantages involved in having more than one.

However, as mentioned above, note that each individual account will have to qualify under Clickbank's Customer Distribution Requirement (click the link and read the top paragraph carefully!) before any payments into it are released by Clickbank, and that each will also be subject to all the other policies and procedures of their accounting policies and procedures (i.e. 2 checks first, before any direct deposits etc.).

thanks everyone for all your feedback
I really appreciate the help I sincerely do!

and thank you for being so helpful alexa,
        I really appreciate it!

I contacted them, and their customer support person explained that's it's fine and he even gave the explanation of affiliates wanting to keep sales from one "type" of product to another "type" of product separate...and he said you could create unlimited accounts

glad I found out! feel so much better!

        I'm so relieved!

You can definitely utilize multiple CB accounts. Many superaffiliates use this approach, as it makes it easier to test and track each individual CB campaign that they're running. The results of each campaign are far easier to evaluate when segregated into different accounts, and it just makes life a lot easier, especially when you're promoting multiple products in different niches.
