How to incooperate extra contacts into AWEBER

Hey folks

I have an email list with 700+ REAL email addresses

These emails were not OPTED-IN to my aweber account . They are sitting in a CSV file

Is it possible to transfer these contacts into AWEBER

You can add them into aweber straight from the spreadsheet. The only catch is all those contacts will then be send a confirmation message and they will need to click on the confirmation link inside that email before you can send anything to them. So in essence, each contact will need to confirm they want to be on your list.

This is part of Awebers rules to help protect their delivery rate. Fair enough I think. If those subscribers are not willing to confirm to be on your list then they are hardly going to be very receptive to any emails you try and send them.

Yes they do, and that is what makes them such a good autoresponder. You can go to an autoresponder with less strict rules but you are shooting yourself in the foot by doing so. The only way Aweber is able to maintain such a good deliverability rate for their customers is by having these strict rules in place. If you don't want the advantages that come with having such a good deliverability rate then sure, go for another 'less strict' auto-responder service.

Yes, otherwise people could just come and drop in a list of a million random email addresses and Awebers reputation would be screwed. Even if you are using single optin on Aweber, they still have a record of the IP address with which each person signed up to your list. If you just drop a whole list of random email addresses into your account then Aweber have no records to prove where those email addresses came from if anything were ever to happen.

They are trying to protect themselves and also their customers. No one would use Aweber if their deliverability rate was low. Their deliverability rate would not be as high as it is if they allowed people to add lists of random email addresses without confirming.

What if you enter the email addressses one by one, via the squeeze page. It will take long.

or wil you get many Spam complaints, that the volume of complaints would cause them to ban you.

It will be the same IP address submitting each email address and you will find you can't do it. They have blocks in place to stop this. The first few might work but after that they will block you. They aren't stupid.

As I said already, if people are not willing to confirm to be on your list then why would you want them on your list anyway. Sure, you are going to have some people who just can't be bothered confirming but most of those who don't will be the same people who never open your emails anyway.

There are plenty of other autoresponders out there who will allow you to import these contacts and mail them without having to re-confirm. They may require you to sign off that these subscribers have agreed to be contacted by you.
But as WillR already mentioned, the deliverability of such services will be lower than Aweber. Although it sounds to me that you don't have any other recourse if you want to mail these people.
But if these subscribers don't know who you are, and are likely to mark your messages as spam I would advise against doing anything with them. Instead work on building your own opt in list in Aweber.

    Hi,

When importing a email list in Aweber, you need to tell Aweber how you did get these contacts.
Will Aweber accept a facebook friends list?
