Duplicate content

Question

If I write an article and submit the same article to multiple article directories and to my blog wouldn't that now be seen as duplicate content?

I know there are article rewriters but I like articles that are readable by humans.

anyone have any thoughts?

    No, it will be seen as syndicated content, perfectly acceptable and done all the time with no ill effects.

    Make sure you submit in this order though :

    1) your blog (making the article yours)
    2) Ezinearticles (they do not accept content already on other directories)
    3) all other article directories.

      Where did you get the idea that Ezinearticles does not accept content on other directories?

      From my understanding so long as the article is unique to you and you use the same pen name you can publish it on EZA even if it has been published before on your blog or other article directories.

      What EZA wants is for you to have exclusive publishing rights.

        I was told that in a freebie I picked up in return for opting in. I'll see if I can figure out what freebie it was and who provided it to me.

    Duplicate content is a myth in terms of being penalized for it. Yes, if other sites have the exact same content you will find it hard to rank ahead of them if they were first but you won't be penalized. You're only penalized if you repeat the same exact content on your own website over and over again. The search engines see that as trying to spam for keywords.
