Many times, I feel like what I am doing is waste of time. Sometimes when I get the results, it confirms this even more... How do you conquer this type of fear and continue on with your work without feeling... let down I guess.

Believe that if you keep trying you will succeed. Every try gets you a little bit closer to success. Imagine the scientists who are trying to cure cancer and aids, if they stopped trying would we ever get anywhere. There is a way to succeed, just believing that you can do it will help. Mary |

I've seen you make several posts like this over the past couple weeks. Maybe not quite like this, but wondering why you're not getting sales or why your CTR is low.... Normally, i would say push through it and go full steam ahead, but you might want to take a step back and make sure you are doing things the right way and in the right order. |

I think about why I want what I want - not lots of money, but what that money will buy me, such as freedom, time with my family, ability to do what I want when I want, work my own hours, etc etc and remain focused on that. It also gives me comfort to know that of all of the people I know personally who have "made it", had their ups and downs and many failures before they finally achieved success. I suppose if you've never failed, how will you know when you have succeeded? The biggest thing is to never, ever focus on what you don't want...! Instead of feeling frustrated that it's taking so long, believe that this means you have great things coming! |

To realize you are not your mind. It is called right action. You and your mind are not the same. If you are nervous to approach a member of the opposite sex...you know it is an irrational fear, yet you do not end up approaching. What is going on here? You are letting your emotions dictate your actions. Take right action. Tell your mind to **** off. It works....seriously. Will Smith once said: "You know that voice in your head that tells you to stop, or not do something you know you should? That is not you. I always tell it to shut up." You can literally tell your mind to "shut up", and get on past the fear. I realize this may go way over many heads, but I thought I would chime in. You get confidence after you do the thing that scares you, not before. That is not how the world works. You can not "drum up" the confidence. You do anyway, and it gets easier every time. You are not your mind. Tell it to take a hike. JD |

Have a dream like I did recently... I dreamed that I was in a oil tanker ship and something let loose and I was about to be crushed to death by tons of steel that was sliding out of control towards me... and I accepted the fact (in my dream) that I was going to die instantly... boy I was glad to wake up from that dream... Better yet, get a job that gives you that feeling of fear everyday, like roofing (I almost fell from 40ft buldings multiple times this summer) or snowmaking (you might die around every corner of a mountain during the winter...) Anyways, my point is, face your fears head on and you will be content. - Jared |

I see, thanks people. I don't mean to bring people down here or wallow in my sorrows. So sorry if I'm acting like that. I have made some sales, but twenty something dollars a month isn't what I was really expecting when I started IM a couple months ago. Thanks again for your guys advice. I guess the consensus here is fear is just an emotion that you should try your best to ignore. |

Hey your not the only one out there that is scared. I am a beginner myself. This is my first time even on this forum or any forum. I have had my own website about 6 yrs. ago and it flopped. I paid big money but no knowledge. So this time around I am going towards it differently. But here I am again and I believe I am going to succeed this time around. Like the others say you learn from your mistakes. I am confident that I will one day be able to say yes I did it; I am my own boss and I can come and go as I please. And I hope that you don't give up and keep moving forward in your adventure. Hey some of these people give you good advice without even putting a link. So that tells you they don't need money and it is possible to succeed. |

They Say Fear Means False Evidence Appearing Real If you let fear, become the dominant emotion in your life......it will destroy your life. It's like those stories we heard about the devil who entices you to get something and you accept his offer, then at the end of the day...he owns you and later on destroy your life. So my point is, ask yourself empowering questions....what am I scared of? you will get the answer Then look for the best alternative course of action to overcome that fear. Most of the times, fear attacks us as a result of our perception to ourselves. Inother words I'm talking about feeling inadequate. Whenever you feel that.....your mind won't be creative to help you get things done. Fear will be holding you hostage. There won't be any room for your imagination to play ball. So don't let fear take over.It doesn't care about you! There is hope, a way you should go about it. It is possible for you to succeed online. Take a step back, find out what makes you happy when you are doing it. Then do that working your online projects. If you enjoy writing, then write, don't do PPC, do what you enjoy and do it to your best. You will succeed online. |

There's a school of thought which suggests that this kind of fear reaction is a gate-keeper to success. In other words, when you're on the cusp of a change, then all your doubts will come up which try to drag you back into your comfort zone. Just keep moving forward. Cheers Angela |

Ignore them. Face it - anything and everything can be scary. I have a fear of heights (well ledges anyway) and I have a nice cache of gemstones I'd have never gotten if I stayed away from mountains because of a little fear. It actually turned out to be a lot of fun to get them too. I'm still a bit leary of ledges but I know the time out there will be stronger than the fear so I ignore it. Just don't pay attention to the fear and do whatever it is you are doing to get to where you wanna go. Once you get there, you'll look around and won't see the fear at all, just the accomplishment. Then you get to start all over ignoring being afraid of something else. |

Thanks guys... you guys are all right... Um... I got a couple of ebooks and followed their format and what to do exactly. I'm currently doing that right now. But you know... once in a while you get your mail, open a check and it's like "Alright... I can use this to payoff the black ink I used up this entire month." I guess part of being in the IM journey is feeling this emotion once in a while and it seems like all of you guys have felt this emotion once before... It's good to relate. Thanks for your posts, I'll keep working at it. Tanya, What am I scared of? I'm scared of these things... 1) Spending 4 years of undergraduate college and not being able to pay that off 2) Seeing my friends who have "real jobs" grow, while being in a illegitimate job where I don't know what's going to happen next or where it's going to take me in the future 3) Letting my parents down as a failure |

There was an episode of Buffy a few years ago (okay, I know Buffy... I'm a geek) when a Halloween party went awry. All of the guests fears were being made real. When the gang finally (accidentally) released the demon behind the extreme fears terrorizing everyone, it was only about two inches tall and quite easy to squash. The point is, fears often seem bigger than they really are. |

re: 2: Check back with those friends in 15 or 20 years and see how their "real jobs" are going. My friends with real jobs are envious as hell of the fact that I haven't answered to a boss since 1988. Your friends will feel the same way about you someday. Also, it's important that you get rid of the idea that working from home over the net is "illegitimate". Helping people by selling them information or products that will make their lives better is at legitimate as it gets! re: 3: You're selling your folks short. They want you to be happy, and, if you're an entrepreneur in spirit, being an entrepreneur is what will make you happy. My parents wanted me to be a lawyer. They got over it.

I can't say that ever goes away, the kind of fear you're talking about. But for me, in IM, I've got no bloody alternative but to succeed! I sold my offline business this Autumn, because I hated it and never wanted to go back - so all I have is what I'm making online. I have a mortgage and a 6 year old and it's all down to me! Now that's fear! Every day and night, I'm banging away at my laptop inching towards my dream of financial freedom and you know what? It's working! I'm making more sales now than I've ever made and the money is coming in virtually from 1 website. Now I'm starting to build wider and very soon build higher. 2009 is the year I get out of debt and start living with my daughter. If you know what you want to achieve Cloudchaser you simply HAVE to plough on ahead, regardless of the fear that wants to drag you back under the duvet and hide from the world and the reality. Get moving Cloudchaser! Get moving now! Good luck |

Hello Cloudchaser, Get an accountability partner - someone who will hold you accountable and make sure you complete the actions that you have committed to.. Be aware of your fears - try not to think. Thinking when you are in a state of fear will only make things worse. If you are simply aware of your fears for the required period of time then the fear will drop away and you will be free of it. Once the fear drops and you are feeling calm and collected then do your thinking. You are most likely to find a solution when you are in a calm state of mind. Hope this helps - you mmight want to try out meditation also. Do a search for tm dot org at google. It will take you to a good site that teaches an effective Transcendental meditation technique. All the best Nikhil |

There is one simple saying that rings true no matter how you look at things in life -- "Winners never quit and quitters never win." Think about that for a moment, if one quits before the finish line, how is it possible for them to win? Once they quit ... that's it, game over. Cloudchaser, you are courageous because you are looking for a reason to continue with your work. That mindset alone is half the battle. Deciding not to quit is the other half. Whether you can see the finish (the success you seek) or not, as long as you continue to press through the fear ... winning is inevitable! When you feel you are at your lowest point, take baby steps if necessary ... just inch along if you have to ... but never quit. Unfortunately, you may feel let down, but as long as you continue to move forward, that feeling will pass. Life has a way of building us. We are tested to see how strong our commitment is to succeed. The beautiful thing is that success knows no boundaries. Unlike most games where there is usually only one winner ... success in life requires only one thing, never quit. The one sure way to make it is to never give up. That commitment will bring the answers you need and ultimately, the power to overcome your fear. Be encouraged to continue what you have already shown the courage to do ... keep working. Hope this helps, Kelly

Keep on keepin' on. Just remember all of the people of that ever really truly experienced any level of success had to fail before they succeeded, re-evaluate where you are, change what needs changing and then get back in there. The worst failure is to do nothing. Keep goin' and try not to internalise the failure so much but rather to look at it as part of the process to finally achieve the success. Good luck and chin up. |

Hi, I have been a student of mind control since my early teens and never cease to be amazed by the power of the human mind. Being aware of the innermost workings of the mind and using this awareness positively can work wonders for you and can give you the ability to aquire all the confidence, courage and power that you desire. I could go on and on here about the many proven techniques you can use to improve your mindset and in so doing rid yourself of the fear and doubt factors prevalent within you but hopefully the following brief information will in some way help you focus your mind differently. Fact: The vast majority of us use only a small fraction of the power house within us - namely, our brain. Some experts put this as low as 10%. So, its not surprising that some 90% of us fail to reach the higher levels of happiness, courage, confidence and power. Our mindset or mental attitude depends upon what we think. Therefore, the secret of all power, all achievment and all possession depends on our method of thinking. It follows therefore, if we have predominantly happy, courageous, confident and powerful thoughts we will have a happy, courageous, confident and powerful personality.

There is a lot of good advice in the above posts so I'll add my two cents. I think your feeling anxious because you're not sure of which direction to go. Your friends in the corporate world don't have near the freedom you do. They're told when to come in, what to do, when to go home, when they can go on vacation etc. It's easier for them because they don't need to set a course, its done for them. I think you need to realize that there is a learning process involved with running any business. I know you're frustrated now but hang in there. You're charting your own course and sometimes you have to go through rough seas to get to calmer waters. |
