Amazon Product Promotion Question...

A question for the Amazon marketing experts...

I've spent quite a chunk of change on most of the Amazon instructional material, and in so far as the best approach is concerned, it seems to be split down the middle.

The first material I read was built around promoting one single item in great depth. The second instructed me to set up a review site built around a minimum of 5 very similar items.

I've tried both and I'm leaning toward the 'Single Item' approach. I feel I can create a more in depth, personalized review when I talk about a single item rather than a more obvious 'Sales Site' comparing a number.

So far, my sales are better from the single item sites as well.

How do others feel about this?

    Hi Anne,

I agree with you - have always found that a site/blog dedicated to a single item works A LOT better not just with Amazon products either.

Main thing I make sure that I do with Amazon is have a strong call to action in both picture/banner form and text.

Look up the "Belcher" Button for info on why this works.

Then I take all of the items I am promoting and if i can I group them into another site.

For instance if I am promoting Computer games - I might have another Amazon site that has consoles on it.

I will put a few anchor text links pairing these two together.

Interesting information Chris. Never heard of the Belcher Button - I'll have to do some researching. Thanks :-)
