Catalog/Gallery Plugin for Wordpress

Hi everyone. Been a lurker here for a while. Need some direction and suggestions. I'm setting up a website for my wife's jewelry. I'm going to do it on Wordpress (just learning how to use it). I'm looking for a theme (looking into the Privateer Theme offered by LibertUnc). Any other suggestions for a "storefront" theme would be welcomed. The site could exceed 200 pages. Will Wordpress accomodate?

Is there a plugin that will provide a catalog type function? What I visualize is a page that shows 6 pieces and their descriptions. Click on a picture (link) and go a page with addtional pictures of the same piece and a buy button.

Any suggestions on plugins for shopping carts?

The final goal of the site is to use it as a catalog for the jewelry. The back end should be easy to add, move and provide different categories (necklaces, braclets, buckles, etc).

    Worpress is not the best cms for shopping carts, I think.

    However I can suggest you wp e-commerce plugin, for example.

      I agree. If you want to build an e-commerce site, magento (open source, hence free) is a great way to go.

        Thanks everyone. I had a doh! moment and googled ecommerce plugins. Actually found some that may meet my needs.
