Go Wide ... or Go Deep?
Truth is, just as with everyone else, I have a finite amount of time to invest in my net marketing efforts. That sort of naturally puts a cap on how many sites I can service. I could build a gazillion of them, but without traffic-building, what's the point?
So for now, I've been going Deep.
But I'm intrigued when I run across those who (they claim, at least) somehow seem to be doing better by going Wide. By that, I mean putting up scores of simple, fast websites using PLR or spun content, monetized with Adsense and maybe an affiliate link or two, and doing a little onsite SEO and virtually nothing offsite.
Soon as one site (often just a single page) is put up fast, they move on to another. Building a "farm" of sites that each pump in small amounts each month, they focus on quantity.
Five sites bringing in $100 a week, say, is no different than 500 sites each bringing in $1 each. You've probably seen the same kind of ads I have: "If you could earn $5 a month with a quick website, how many of them would you build?"
So far, though, I haven't been able to convince myself that websites can churn out automatic cash - even in small amounts - with virtually no follow-up after they're created.
So is "Wide" a myth? A mirage? Or am I overlooking something here that I should be giving a chance? Am I wrong and ignorant here? (Wouldn't be the first time! )
