Could this be a new way to write articles?

Has any one here tried Dragon Naturally Speaking For writing your articles? I was thinking about buying it as I believe if it worked as well as its claims say, it would be a really big time saver in doing article marketing.

I think I could get out a lot more content with it. Am just curious if any one has tried it.

I wouldn't exactly call it a new way, as it has been around for time.

It can save time. I thought you had a new way to write articles for a second then, by reading your thread title.

Use the search feature on this forum, there have been many threads on this.

I posted an article to articlebase...com yesterday and today I seen it on the internet with all my links changed to someone else. Have you had this happen to you?

While I haven't tried it myself, it has been discussed and recommended many, many times here. A search of the forum may give you the info you're looking for.

    All the best,

I have the phone version and it has worked well for me if I am out and think of something. It isn't the most accurate but I assume that the full PC version is quite a bit better.

I have tried this but i have a broad Scottish accent, so i was mistaken my words and was writing jubberish, but on the positive side some of it was quite funny.

Well I have a real southern accent, wonder if that would affect it?

It depends on how you write. My speech centre of my brain can't keep up with my thought centre. And because I mumble, I have to dictate a phrase at a time. That means dictacting accurately for me is slower than type. And I lose my train of thought in the process. I can think something internally and the fingers know where to keep up to (ie I can think ahead while the fingers are currently typing on the current passage). But I can't do that dictating as I am actively thinking about speaking what I just said. Tried DNS 3 times and each time I get frustrated with it.

Yes, it works well once you train the software to your voice inflections and such. You will still need to go back and edit your articles after using it so don't expect them to be picture perfect on the first go-around.

I have heard that some people have success with it. I have yet to give it a shot. Mainly because I can write articles with a bit of ease and that would just be an added expense. I guess if you are a slow typer then this would be an alternative to typing. By the way I can type around 100 wpm.

Dude, you must have a lot of money. Why not use the voice recognition software that comes along with WIndow 7. I have not used it much but it works and it's free.

That first week with Dragon takes some getting used to. Going from typing my thoughts out to speaking them was somewhat of a challenge for me. It felt a little abnormal... don't ask me why!

After that first week, I could crank out 1K articles in 30 minutes with Dragon. Admittedly it did require some serious practice during that first week. I found that I do better when I'm not looking at the screen while I'm speaking. So I get up and pace a lot.

I've tried the voice recognition software that's free with Win 7 and I hated it. It was about 70% off base for me. But I've heard that some people like it better than Dragon. If you have a Windows system, definitely try it first.

I was speaking with a friend of mine who swears by this software, and made a purchase today of the retail premium version with bluetooth headset. All i can say is that even with only a few hours of getting started with it, I can see a huge potential time saving by using this software.

In particular, the ability to research articles on the web, and then construct original content by re paraphrasing some of the information on the web saves so much time. I would estimate that 500 - 600 word articles on new subjects and niches will be taking around 20 minutes to complete within a matter of days. Freeing up time for other SEO work.

In fact to prove it i used the software to create this particular response :-)

How much time you save using Dragon and other VR software depends on how fast you type. I have Dragon, but ended up spending more time going over the articles than if I type it out. I make far fewer errors typing than the errors VR software causes.

That said, I can type 60 to 70 wpm so even in a best case scenario VR software doesn't save much time. If you type 20 wpm, it could be very effective for you. The key is training it over time (which is a time-consuming process).

If you're in a niche with jargon, training it for the jargon will minimize errors. If I were into using VR software again, I too would try the free Windows 7 VR rather than shelling out for Dragon.

I have used Dragon Naturally speaking for many years and still am today. But in my case, it's mostly due to the fact that I am a stroke victim and lost function in my left side arm and fingers.

The only thing I had an issue was the training part and my French accent. Once I got through it all after months of training, it did very well and was happy with my purchase.

Let me know if you have any other questions about Dragon naturally speaking software.

    Take care,

I have been using DNS since 2002 for articles, books and other writing projects. I highly recommend it. Now, in version 11, you don't need to train the software as much as you did, but dictation is a skill that takes a few weeks to master. You don't have to train your computer as much as you have to train yourself.

I have no doubt that voice recognition software, is only going to get bigger. It will be a huge part of the future.

I haven't tried it since, there were many probs still associated with it.

For instance I let my wife "train" it first, then I went in to retrain it, it would only write articles like:

      Why don't you quit drinking.

When are you going to get a real Job

That tree isn't gonna cut itself down

And as we all know, those niches have been done to death.

I've used it allot, and still do, depending on the nature of the content.

I have used a digital recorder to record my words, and then DNS can convert it to text. Here is a video I recorded doing a post on Wordpress, and it shows the level of editing after conversion and all.

I bought it, but haven't utilized it as much as I had expected to. If you do get it, I'd recommend buying a premium version that will also transcribe audio files. I don't have that capability, but have found I do have the need.

I tend to be more of a talker than a writer. I found I come up with better "stuff" while in the midst of a conversation. I use Skype a lot with fellow marketers, so I've taken to recording my Skyped voice calls. (My friends know the convo is being recorded. Most of them are recording it, too!) Then I can extract the gold later.

Which would be so much easier to do if I could just run the audio through DNS.

    Just a thought.

Good idea.................I'm also better at talking ideas out instead of writing them out. Primarily because the ideas come so fast to me when talking.

Once technique that I have found to be beneficial is to quickly capture any idea that comes to mind in a simple notepad and then at a later time go back and talk the idea out using DNS to record the content which can then be reworked/edited.
