Hi,

I wish to understand if there is any difference in ranking when it comes to using a .com, .org or .net extension as compared to a blog with a keyword.blogspot.com Can you use a blogger blog to rank easily or getting .com, .org or .net extension is easier than a blogger blog link???

You want to get your own domain so you have control over it. What if you get a blog on Blogger (or anywhere) to rank, and then all of the sudden they shut it down for some reason? It's happened, you never wanna make a free blog your "main" money maker.

Using them for articles/backlinks etc is fine, but as your money-maker... I would never!

I understand you, but still my question is on ranking, what can you say on that?

There are 100 threads here explaining, and proving, that domain extensions don't affect ranking at all, and both Google and Matt Cutts have said so repeatedly, in writing and on video. Just saying ...

Best thing to do is, just use the search function.

There are often a few discussions on domain extensions every week.

Domain extensions don't affect ranking at all. Ranking depends on content, backlinks and so on, as always.

There are blogspot subdomains ranking at the top of Google's SERP's even for some quite competitive keywords.

There are also (especially recently) huge numbers of Blogger blogs deleted by Google in the night, often with absolutely no warning at all, without their Warrior owners understanding what they've done wrong or how they've breached the terms of service. There's been a huge number of threads here over the last couple of months commenting on this alarming problem, and on the inherent dangers of using Blogger for any website with any commercial or traffic-generating motivation.

Using those blogs for traffic generating is actually contrary to the terms of service (it says so quite clearly), but they do seem to be very inconsistently and idiosyncratically interpreted.

For anything approaching a "money site" or "traffic-generating site", personally, I wouldn't touch it.

If you only need that blog for an upcoming launch (let's say there's a product launching in a week from now), then you can use a 2.0 platform (I suggest to go with WP and also use Slideshare), but for a long term money site you definitely need to get your own domain. When that site starts making you money you'll want to track everything and you need your own domain for that.

I can confirm that in my experience domain extensions and even the keywords in the domain don't matter all that much. I have one .info and one .ws that both rank very high after I've done a lot of SEO on them. Also I have one site that ranks for a keyword totally unrelated to it's title, since I've build tons of links using that keyword.
