Affiliate themes for Joomla?

Hi Guys.
I've seen a lot of affiliate themes for Wordpress. Are there any for Joomla?

If not, anyone know of any resources or info on using Joomla for affiliate marketing?

Thank you,
Ron

    You can use virtuemart with joomla and just search their extensions for the affiliate modules and plug ins.

    I was hoping that there was something less bloated than having to install Virtuemart, which is geared for ecommerce.

    Just wondering if there are similar affiliate themes for Joomla like those found for Wordpress. Or is Joomla not useful for lighter, landing page-type sites?

      Well, if you just install virtuemart, it doesn't need to be as heavy as people seem to think. It can be used for anything really, it can be made as simple or complex as you need.

      Typically speaking though, joomla is more for a full site. Usually, I find that joomla isn't used to the full potential unless it is a full site. You might as well use wordpress for smaller sites or one-pagers.

    That's the impression that I had ... that Wordpress was more conducive to smaller landing-page type sites. Just curious about Joomla because I have a lot of experience with it. and I like Joomla.

        Hi sonic.
        No. I was talking about actual themes ... similar to Socrates (from Joel Comm) and another that's called Affiliate Theme.

          Ohhh....You can take a lot at rocket theme. Their latest templates-themes are build with the gantry framework.

          It's similar to socrates theme.....you can change colors,layouts e.t.c. very easy with one click, but it's not prealoaded with headers and backgrounds.

            @sonic.
            yes. I'm familiar with Rocket Theme and other template companies. But I haven't seen Rocket Theme lately; I'll take a look and see what they're offering. I've been a fan of a few other template companies.

            @RaptorGabe
            Joomla is a true CMS (content management system), whereas Wordpress was originally a blogging platform, although WP is moving towards a CMS approach with their "pages" ... but I find Joomla to be extremely flexible (and powerful) in terms of design and development of websites.

            Don't get me wrong. I do like Wordpress for landing page sites and blogs.

    I have not really used Joomla, does it have any major advantages?

    sonic74 is right. Joomla has a steep learning curve, but once you learn it there's so much you can do with it. Definitely for authority sites. Also, my Joomla sites do pretty well on the SEO end.

    I'm not sure if they offer an affiliate program, but the best looking Joomla sites are from joomlabamboo.com. Elegantthemes.com is my choice for Wordpress. The only problem I had as a joomla beginner is trying to figure out the structure of a particular joomla bamboo template. To complicate matters, there's the new k2 structure. Start with joomla.org .

    Yeah. JoomlaBamboo is great for clean minimal designs. I'm also a really big fan of YooTheme.
