Issues with Google's Website Optimizer

So I've been trying to use Google's website optimizer for my site:

The problem is this site has multiple articles on the front page. So, to create a test page I had to make a new page and copy all the content from all 3 articles into it. Now this is not that big of a deal because as you can see in the link below it looks almost completely identical:

The problem comes with the fact that I use gocodes for my affiliate links to a CB product I'm selling. The specific problem comes when Google asks me to put their tracking code into my conversion page, which I don't believe I can do seeing as it is a gocode link.

Has anyone else had a problem similar to this? If so, did you find a way to remedy it, or do you know of any other free or nearly free programs that are a little less rigid with their setups compared to Google's optimizer?

    SilentX,
I may have misunderstood your problem...apologies if I did...

However, if you control the landing page and the conversion page, I think WebSite Optimizer can track across multiple domains.

If it can't, then I would suggest you try to do a PHP Include or maybe even an iFrame of the conversion code on the conversion page.

That may work in your case.

    Hope this helps,

Actually no, website optimizer said that I have to use a conversion url that has the same domain as my testing/original page. Also, the problem is I don't know how gocodes works, but basically all I do is plug in the redirection url (my affiliate link) and give it some text that it uses as the new url for my site. The thing is I don't know how to affect this page that it creates for the redirection. I'm not sure if it even exists, or if it exists as a link controlled by gocodes. either way i wouldnt kno where to put the tracking code.

    SilentX,
Ahh...I see what you mean now.

You are an affiliate for a CB product but not actually the product owner?

If that is the case, then you'd have to get the owner to place the code for you on the landing page.

yeah that won't work either because like i said im using gocodes, so id need to put the tracking code onto this fictional gocode redirection link. the problem is there is no such page. and i cant go to the owner of the site to place the tracking code either because, like i mentioned earlier, the domain has to be the same between conversion site and the original/test page.

Meh, nevermind. I found visual website optimizer and am trying out the 30 day trial. their setup is way more intuitive than google's.
