How To Get the Download Button On Paypal

Can anyone explain this seemingly inexplicable Paypal "anomaly" ?

Basically after going through a purchase you get a button saying to click it to finish the purchase and download your product, how do you get this?

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about:

I even emailed Paypal and they said they don't allow buttons that do this, I emailed the vendor (a Warrior who posted a WSO) and he said he has no idea why it does this, but he's using a download protection service. Could that be what's allowing this?

I have tons of people who fail to wait the redirect limit to get redirected to the download/thank you page and I always have to give them the link manually. If I could get something like this post-purchase that'd rock.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Have you included in your Paypal code a return URL which it will redirect to after the purchase has been completed successfully?

    Something along these lines -

    <input type="hidden" name="return" value="http://www.mywebsite.com/transactionsuccessful.htm">

    Hi Mrsleep,

To get that button, all you need to do is turn off Auto Return in Paypal.

Having said that, you'll also find people who don't click the button.

You're probably better off using a download managment system (such as DLGuard, for example ) that will also send an email with their download link in it, even if they don't return to the download page straight away.

Some people like to go into their Paypal account, so make sure they've been charged the right amount, etc., and that's why they don't make it to your download page straight away.

    cheers

    Personally,

I think it's to do with which kind of account the seller has set up in paypal.

A personal account usually gives that option.

A premier or business account replaces that orange button with "return to merchant"

    Simple as that really!.

You'll probably find that all you need to do is look at the merchant tools in paypal!

If you only have a personal account, then maybe they won't be visiible.
Change your account status to premier (no cost by the way) and a whole new lot of tools open up to you.

    Hope that helps. Kindest regards,

    Janet
