For the Wordpress Guru's

Need help, been playing around with a site of mine for awhile and I just can't get it right. My issues seem to be around the text, the text as is.. is ok, but I want to adjust it and make certain headlines larger/bold. But it doesn't work, when I adjust in visual text get's all screwy sometimes, and certain things show being bold in visual but when published don't carry over. I.E. lets say I have something like "Do You Want To Make Money Now", but I want it larger and bolded so do those actions, but when published it looks like "D o Y o u W a n t T o M a k e M o n e y N o w" or sometimes it will look like that but the text will actually overlap itself.

Like I'm using a headline with "Heading 2", if I choose "Heading 1" to make it bigger it gets all screwed up.

And the text throughout the static page to me just doesn't have that sharp look to it I see other wordpress sites with. I know there are sales themes you can buy, but problem with them is apparently you can't use a header which I need (tried uploading to 1 and it didn't work), and you can't have you other pages like faq, terms, contact etc that I have under the header.

I do not know what theme you are using now, but I have never had a problem using Flexsqueeze.

I have dozens of sites, including client sites, using this theme and I have no issue with changing things around.

My suggestion is Google Optimize Press (I'm not an Affiliate). It allows you to create sales pages and squeeze pages in literally 10 - 15 min. No Joke.

I use it and am very happy with it.

It's really cheap for what it is. You can use headers with it and put your other pages on it but I would save those for the footer (no need to distract).

    I hope this helps.

I'm using the Zenlite theme b/c it's a single, which is all I needed for a normal static page.

Awesome, will do that, as wordpress standard editor sucks. Seems if you can't get it to work in visual you have to be skilled in html to use that editor which I'm really not.

Engusia - yes I looked at themes for sales pages and even have a few, problem is their only really good for a sales page....they won't allow my custom header to be used (actually no header period, though 1 does except I nor others can seem to get it to work), and you can't have your other pages like FAQ, Contact etc like I do under my header.

No matter what theme you are using or if you use the WYSIWYG editor or the Dean's FCKEditor, the theme's CSS stylesheet will determine what your text will look like.

The CSS can make a H1 look bigger or smaller than a H2 or H3...etc.

So once you are set on a theme and you ebter your text and text formatting inside the post editor. You can make adjustments by adjusting the CSS stylesheet.

I use the TinyMCE editor instead of the default editor in wordpress. Formatting is gooed, exactly the way I want it.

It is easy to set up too.

I agree. It is the Themes CSS that is giving you the issue. Specifically... the letter spacing within the css

I was on my down to the quick reply box to tell you to use the tinyMCE advanced plugin.... but I saw his post telling you the same thing.

Anyways... that plugin is awesome. My favorite thing is it allows you to keep extra spaces between paragraphs for more flexibility formatting. It's a free plugin.

tinyMCE also lets you easily add tables which can help in formatting your page layout

If it's an issue with the formatting within the page/post switch out the editor and you'll be fine...

If it's a theme issue with the header, footer, or sidebar, then it's a CSS issue...

Yeh it's moreso the text, header etc is fine. Going to play with it right now.... but is it me or in the last week or two has Wordpress dashboard been extremely slow?? Searched online and found people saying the same thing, doesn't matter if I use FF, Safari, or Chrome... it's frustratingly slow and has to be an issue with WP as everything else moves fast as normal.

edit - yup the Dean FCKEditor (haha I keep saying f*** editor when saying it lol) worked, still not 100% like I want it to be like I've seen some of the sale page templates can do, but then I'd rather not have issues with my custom header and other pages and rather not spend 120+ bucks on flexsqueeze. I'm using the Zenlite theme as it's a single column and good for a static site, but I think it may be a bit to wide for my liking.

But the FCKEditor worked, playing around with settings, the site is already looking waaaaay better and the text is sharper (that drove me nutz with the settings on the stock wp editor, the text just had a sorta fuzzy look to it).

Thanks a lot for all the help, I may still look into flexsqeeze or simple sales pages, as this one I'm doing was moreso a static page for a business of mine
