What would you expect out of a $200-$300/month Virtual Assistant?

I'm looking to hire a virtual assistant to help me with SEO/Marketing needs, and have a budget of $200-$300 per month. I'm looking to have them design linking strategies, utilize yahoo answers, craigslist, chacha, etc.

What is a reasonable workload to expect out of someone for this price?

It depends where your VA lives. If he/she lives in Texas, then you can expect a few hours a month worth of work for that amount. If they live in the Philippines, then you could probably expect to get a full time employee.

I'm looking for someone overseas, preferably the philippines as I've had good experiences with them. I'm interested to know in terms of work load though, specifically round about links, hours a day, that kind of thing. I don't want to expect too much out of a worker or assign them too little.

I've hired full-time VA's from the Philippines for $300.00 per month. 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.

The quality of the work was good and they were very eager to be kept busy.

        Hope this helps!

        All the best,
        Merlyn

I used firstpagewebsearch - they have advertised services in the warrior services section. They have article writers, SEO va's, and general va's available.

I find that if you use a VA from the Philippines for $300 a month, you get what you pay for. That is little more than minimum wage over there. For double that you can usually find someone that has been a VA and is fairly skillful at things that VA's do. Even though you pay twice as much you end up getting much more work done. The $300 a month VA will take countless hours of training to get them proficient at anything you would need them to do. So not only are they unproductive, so are you during that time.

If your budget limits you to $300 a month, why not hire someone experienced and have them work part time. You will probably get more for your money that way. I know that I always have.

I've considered this also. My issue is I always seem to find sub-par workers and get copy/paste responses. It's annoying... I just am not sure where to look for quality workers who are personable and open to building a business relationship rather than getting in and getting out.

The link Merlyn posted, 10 hours minimum for 2.50 an hour, why not give it a shot? 22.50 for a 10 hour week, why not? I'm going to give it a shot and see how it goes.

Even if I had someone creating accounts everywhere for 10 hours, and sending me the log in information, its worth it. I can have press releases written and give them instructions and that pawns off a 3-4 hour process! Social bookmarking, they couldn't possibly require too much instruction for that. Going around and adding people on twitter, follow to be followed... posting scripted comments on blogs, twitter accounts.... adding friends on facebook.

I see the benefits of this.

Well, it depends on the location of your VA. If he/she lives in India then $300 will be ok, but you need to fix a number of hours too.
Number of websites you want him to manage will also increase the rate..

I've had hired a VA from Philippines and I was happy with her performance. Most of the candidates are with college degree and with experiences. Good things about them are they are punctual and always following instructions. But still it really depends on the person's attitude not with the nationality because I also have a friend who had problems with his VA from the same country.

I have to say that I was impressed with the 2 VA's from firstpage. I didn't have to train either one of them and they were prompt and extremely courteous.

Obviously your experience may vary but mine was positive.

                      Good luck!
