How to get the first 1K list fast?

Hi, guys,

I have just had a look into the joint venture section. There are full of solo/swaps. I think the minimum barrier of entry is roughly about 1K.

Just curious, how to have the 1st 1K email list for me to get the swap running fast?

regards
David

One of the ways I noticed people on this forum use to increase the number of subscribers is offering a free ebook or what have you in the "make money online" section. Since WF has thousands of members and visitors, its an easy way to get lots of subscribers fast.
Of course you could do the same on your site.

One of the easiest (if any are easy) ways is to create a valuable product and give it away for free. If you create something good and post it as a free wso, you will get tons of eyeballs on it. Of course, if it's something that no one wants, you won't be accomplishing much.

In my opinion, there is one way which shines out from all of the rest.

Create a GREAT product (even just a 60 minute interview with an expert about something would be fine... very easy to make).

Then you whack it up for sale at $7 (or some other 'no-brainer' price). Put as much effort into making it sell as you can. Great sales letter/page... and then offer 100% instant commissions - using a script like RAP.

Then find some beasty marketers with MAMMOTH-SIZED lists and convince them to promote it for 100% commissions on the $7. If the product is great, and the sales process is great, then they'll know they can shift a ton of them and make a bunch of cash.

YOU obviously don't make any cash from the promotion but you do build a list... and not just any list... it's a BUYERS list (whoop!).

So, if you can get 20 marketers to send you 50 sales (shouldn't be tough with a $7 product) then you've built your list of 1000 buyers - and THAT is going to be much more powerful than a list of 10,000 opt-ins.

      Hope this helps

You'll have trouble finding marketers with "beastly" lists to promote a $7 product, even with 100% commissions. But your idea is still valid. Just make it a better product at a price point of at least $27-$37 and offer 100% commissions. That'll perk up more interest than the single digit pricing.

Also, if you really want to attract the better affiliates, test your conversions before you approach them and have your stats all nice and easy to read to present to them. I'm not going to promote even a more expensive product unless you tell me and SHOW me that your sales page converts at better than the industry average of 2%. Show me a 5% or higher conversion and a higher price point, and I'll at least give your offer strong consideration.

That's how the better affiliates out there will think about this.

This is a really great post and I totally agree - it will help to build a quality list, one where the subscribers are actually willing to invest something, even if it's only $7. It's a powerful way to start the relationship, knowing that these are people who've actually bought something from you.

I definitely would have a OTO set up and add your links into the product so that you do make some money even though you are giving away the commissions. However, if you massively over deliver with the product and get a few good affiliates, you could easily get to 1k in a week or two.

I started building my list through teleseminars. I purchased 'Instant Teleseminar' as it is so easy to use, got my first guest (which happened to be a IM coach that I paid to coach me), asked him to introduce me to 3 more possible people to interview, asked each of them to announce the teleseminar to their list and I got hundreds of subscribers from my first teleseminar.

This a free to join Giveaway. If you have never participated in a Giveaway before, it is a simple but speedy way to increase your mailing list by offering a free product. You need to have your own product, but you can simply compile an ebook based on whatever you have learned about internet marketing, or offer a free plr book on any niche.

What you could also do is offer 100% commissions on your product, price it around $17 or higher (to make it attractive to affiliates) and place it on a instant commission affiliate network like RAPbank or Payspree. If your product's good, this should generate some significant interest among affiliates, who will then promote your product and build your list for you in the process.

If you have a little cash to spend, you could set up some well crafted and targetted classified ads (with opt-in form) on Ebay (c.$10 for 30 days), or pay to get your eBook onto the home page of one of the main free ebook sites (upto $100 for a week).

Alternatively a Free WSO can, I am told, be very successful (not tried it myself though).

      Good Luck.

If you have the money, I think you may use solo ads and co registration, obviosly every time of advertising will give different types of subscribers, you can use the WSO special offer section and giveaway free report or something, here is many buyers, so many people who optin to get your free thing should be buyer, so you are getting good subscriber base

I did this something with two Warriors with lists in the same niche - one guru marketer and another not so guru.
    1. I created PLR products just for them. I did solo mailing to mine and not-so-guru guy's list prior to approaching the guru marketer. From these two mailing I got the stats ready to present to the first marketer.
    2. I simply sent PM to the guru marketer and said, "I am not sure if you'd be interested, but I am on your list bought your products before and created this PLR product I think would be a good fit for your list. Here's the sales page with your picture (next to mine) and here are the stats, would you care to mail this? I'd like you to offer this to your list for $15 telling them that the 'public launch' would be on Wednesday and the price will go up to $25"
    3. I had this all set up for him on my server, all he had to do was to point to mydomain/hisname web page, which had HIS PAYPAL email address already built-in since I know his Paypal was from buying his products before. All I did was it integrated my auto responder to sign people up automatically.

So all he had to do was... point to the page and do mailing, I promised him I could handle all the customer service and gave him also the download link in case someone contacted him.

He replied to me, "Thanks for the PM, Takuya, I don't normally answer to PM like this, but I think you have set up everything very nicely. So all I have to do is send people to the page with my and your picture on it right? and tell them that the price will go up by Wednesday?"

    That was it.

Next day (Monday), I was getting email notifications all day and it continued all the way up to the Wednesday deadline. The funny thing was on Wednesday, after the price went up, I still made one $25 sale from one of the buyers who made purchase while it was still at $15 -- I quickly emailed the buyer to see if it might have been a mistake (and could offer refund) but he didn't even reply.

I asked how big his list was and told me it was about 1000 buyers list of new marketers and I added about 186 buyers in those three days. 186 people may not sound all that significant, but by then, these people have bought not one but TWO or more stuff from the two of us, proven and profitable VIP list.
