is this niche worth anything?

Hey everyone,

I tried IM in 2009 for about 6 months and never made any money, not a dime. So I had to go find a 9-5 job but I have been recently laid off.

So I have a question for you guys.

Do you think there is any money to be made in the niche of crab fishing in So Cal? That was the niche i went for back in 09 but I am wondering you guys think it would be a waste of time to pick it back up.

If you think it can be done what are some ideas for how to generate income from a site like this.

Thanks

Do you know how to do keyword research? I highly recommend you do that, and then perhaps, if you provide results, People can give you their opinion on whether you should invest into that niche or not.

e is probably some money to be made from this niche. Its pretty small and targeted and I don't know how many people are interested in tis, but I would presume that the folks who are interested are really, really interested in it.

For fishing niches, there is always specialized gear than can be sold, fishing techniques reports, a paid forum or even an insider's guide to the hottest crab fishing spots in SoCal.

A fair amount of adsense ads for crab fishing gear come up.

I hope that helps a bit.

I believe you can make money from ANY niche.

Information is the internet and people will pay anything for the right information.

If you want to pursue crab fishing, make sure you supply everything you can about it. You will find what information your audience wants most of and when you do you will clean up.

It really doesn't matter what you are trying to sell, if you work hard enough at it, you will make sales. Don't be disheartened by your previous attempt. You obviously didn't have the right information to make anything of it.

Boy, I can think of lots of stuff for crabs fishing that would get lots of users coming to my site. Here are a few examples.

mmmm....yummy crab recipies lots of great meals from crab.
How to breed crabs, something like Aquaculture
    Crab species
    Mud Crabs in Australia
    Making a crab trap.
    Catching crabs
    Hermit crabs
    Crabs as pets
    Strange specie crabs
    Crab mass migrations
    Crab boats
    Crab boat fishing
    Home made Crab Traps.......

    And I can go on.....

I think I will start a Crab niche......nah...I have enough to keep me busy.

First off, does this niche interest you?

I don't care how profitable it is, if it's something you gotta drag yourself to, it will be tough to make money no matter what.

Now, you know much more about crab fishing than I do, but I do believe this could be profitable in ways you don't see atm.

What do crab fishers need? Some things that come to mind:

Fishing equipment, obviously (affiliate links on your site)

Crab fishing guides (here's your free giveaway to build a list)

Cookbooks (here's a product you can create to upsell to said list)

Cooking utensils (crosssell after selling cookbook)

Hmmmmm....looks like there is money to be made here...go get it!

Another thing you could add is anything about the characteristics of each crab species.

One thing I have noticed over the years with my websites is schools love websites with heaps of varied information.

You can often tell when a classroom full of kids is on your site if you have a counter or a stats program attached to it. You will often see large numbers coming from the same IP address.

Yes, crabs are a very interesting subject niche. Go for it!
