Default anti virus flagging websites?

Hi All,

I have a wordpress blog on my website and it's getting flagged by antivirus programs like norton.

Is there anything I can do to stop it from being flagged as a threat?

Thanks for any help!

Andrew

Well-- what i need to know is if i can do something to stop it from getting flagged on other people's computers... like customers.

it's a big turn off when norton says that this website is a security threat, you know?

Hi,

Are you just having this problem on your PC or is it being reported to you by others?

Also, I wouldnever turn off my firewall. You are just asking for trouble.

Thanks,

John

I'm not having the problem on my computer, but a few others have contacted me about it.

Are you sure no one planted a virus on it? That would definitely cause this problem. What's the URL - I'll see if it sets off my avast.

OK,

Check your blog, it may have been hacked. I do show a trojan has been installed.

Thanks,

John

This is the message I get.

This website wants to run the following add-on: Microsoft Data Access - Remote Data Services Dat...' from "Microsoft Corporation'. If you trust the website and the add-on and want to allow it to run, click here...

I haven't seen that one before.

Andrew,

I would suggest logging into your control panel and looking at the index files. If it's a WP blog, look in index.php, pagetemplate.php, header.php, footer.php, etc. Check them all to be sure.

You will be looking for some code that is definitely noticeable. May be an iframe or staright javascript.

If you are running an older version of WP, upgrade.

Thanks,

John

Looks like someone's planted a trojan installer.

If you still have your template files on your hard drive, delete what's on your server now and upload them, this should overwrite what's been hacked without having to look for it.

Make sure and change your passwords also, they got in once, they can do it again. Also make sure your version of WP is up to date.

That may help.

Hi guys!

So-- I found some weird scripts in those files:

and deleted them...

is your antivirus flagging the site anymore?

Thanks again... I really appreciate it!

Edit: In my cpanel (log in to your webhost) there is a virus scanner - from memory I think it might be clamwin. I use that from time to time to scan all my webspace

Do you mean, that your website is Getting a signal on search-engines and flag'd by Search-engines?stating that "this site is not safe to visit" in their results?
well because Google recently was showing avg anti-virus alerts on their site and Yahoo was showing Mcafe.
try modifying your code and wait for the Spider(s)

I had the same problem about a week ago and was lucky to be alerted by a fellow warrior. I also found some weird javascripts in the template files of all of my different blogs. There were also several alien directories that I had to delete and there were similar weird scripts in some index files.
