Do you pay for press release writing or distribution?

Would you pay for it?

Just doing a little market research before I launch my new PR business.

Pricing is important to any IM business so let me know if you think the costs I have in mind are fair:

Professional PR writing $60
Wide PR distribution $60
Very wide PR distribution $160

Years ago I wrote short but professional PR's for an interactive ad agency. Here is an example of a recent one I posted in WF Articles:

If you search for the PR title in quotes, you will see many thousands of listings in Google. That is the "very wide distribution".

Please note that I am not looking to solicit business with this post- just true feedback!

    A PR is certainly more valuable than an article, and it's important that it is written in a professional news report style by someone families with them.

    I would probably only pay a known entity to distribute a press release, there are enough OK free services out there. Ideally one would offer distribution by PRweb, perhaps through some sort of broker arrangement that at earns at least a commission.

    I'm not a professional writer but I do sell press releases. I write and market them. My average is about 10,000 results for my press release, highest was 26,000.

    I charge $150, so your prices are good. You just need to find clients willing to pay.
