How to draft an effective auto-responder

Hey Warriors,

Just curious about your auto-responder strategies.

I've built up some decent traffic to my fitness blog. About 150-250/day
I just finished putting together a free report I will be offering

Now I'm curious how to draft an effective auto-responder that
Sells a couple affiliate products or so (my personal product isnt done yet)

For example maybe you start with X amount of follow up messages..
And on certain days you give away free content and certain days you recommend
Affiliate products.

Whatever help you can offer would be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance!

What I've done with fitness sites is make your bonus pre-selling material for the affiliate product you want to sell. Give away a good amount of info, but hint throughout the bonus that you learned all this in ______'s product or that you can get the complete training schedule.... you get the idea. Then I would setup an autoresponder series of 5-7 emails that all give tips while preselling the product you want to sell.

Then, you can setup similar series that do the same thing for complimentary products. Good luck.

One of the things I like to do when I am writing an AR
series for affiliate products is to take one of the bullet
    points from the actual product.

In the fitness niche for example, there is a product called
the Truth About Abs. At the top of the page one of the
    bullet points discusses "Motivational Secrets."

In my message for that day I would discuss some tips
to get motivated. At the end of the message I would have
it naturally transition to the product as you have already
    warmed them up.

Won't comment on amount of messages or when they should
be sent, as everyone and every niche is different.

    Hope this helps,

    Rien

I just try to make it feel like I wrote it that morning without being cheesy. I put my main product in the signature, and always add a teaser sentence or two about the next email at the end.

Whatever strategy you apply (sending series of 5-7 follow-ups for a certain affiliate product or sending daily broadcasts) you should always "sell" them the benefits of that product, not the features.

For your fitness blog I would tell them for example how great they'll look and feel after implementing the techniques discussed in that particular product you're promoting and not that they'll have to read through 347 pages of content.

Another idea would be to offer your subscribers a weekly downloadable pdf report (containing a review for that x product you're promoting at that time) and have the subject line of your broadcast set to something like: FREE Report! - How To Lose 10 Pounds In 2 Weeks FAST!

      Dan.

Definitely stealing the free report idea, thanks! Do you put links in the report that you give them?

Hey Sean, the idea with the free report is that you'll have your content in front of your subs eyes for longer. And yes, you're basically using the pdf report to heavily promote that product by putting links in it.

By doing this (offering that report) you're able to broadcast shorter messages and thus raising the conversion (more people will click on the links inside that message).

Also the title of the message MUST emphasize the word FREE and, whenever possible, have numbers in it. Usually this raises the number of people who will open your emails.

          Hope this helps,
          Dan.

If you are making that much daily may I recommend a copywriter?

Copywriters are taught the art of literary persuasion aka selling. They
may be the most effective route since you have the money.

You got some really ideas you should follow, one more thing I wanted to
ad is using a testimonial or 2 of the product especially if the aff. product creator provides one. I have found that with fitness products people are moved by stories of others' success and they feel like they can do it too, or the product will work for them. and believe me I know, I have bought more than a few fitness products, I once was 102 lbs overweight lol! Good luck to you, oh yes, always test, track and tweek.
