Social Networking Site Question

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,

Does anyone have any advice for me on starting
a social networking site.

I have an idea for such a site, based on a niche
interest, and I think it could do quite well.

There are a few sites like this already, but they
do not have the (important) branding elements
that I would want to make use of.

What are my options?

Buy an existing site (with members) and "rebrand"?

Start from scratch with no members, but then how
would I attract others if no one else is yet a member?
(seems like a Catch-22).

Or, is there another option?

Hiya,

I'm in the same boat as yourself, in I am in 2 minds as to buying and trying to go from there or starting from scratch.

I've been reading on forums how FB are stopping people adding mass likes etc unless you have the administrator access, so I'm waiting to hear more about this, as I don't see the point in buying services if I am unable to use or need to give someone else the admin access to put things in place.

I'm new to all this , so gleaning information on a daily basis.
