How often is PR updated?

how often is the pagerank to my entrepreneur blog updated? Is it a fixed time (such as once a month), or it fluctuates?

    It varies.

    It used to be 3/4 times a year.

    The last updating was certainly very recent. Many people think (and say) that the last major updating of page ranks, before that, was as long ago as April/May 2010, but I've had some pages increasing their PR between then and now, so certainty's quite difficult to come by.

    It's only one of a large number of factors affecting SEO/SERP's rankings, and maybe not quite as important as is widely believed, anyway.

    It was updated less then a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time since widespread / global update took place since April 2010. Hopefully we won't have to wait 9+ months next time an update takes place.

    It used to update once every 3-4 months, but the last one took like 10 months to update. It shouldn't matter to you unless you are selling links. The toolbar PR is meaningless and has nothing to do with the rankings.

      People often forget the difference between the page rank used in the search algorithm and the PR shown on the Google toolbar.

      There are indications that the 'real' page rank is updated pretty much constantly, while the PR is updated at Google's whim.

      People also often mistakenly assume that "page rank" is the rank of their page. The metric was devised by Larry Page and is actually named after him. It has almost nothing to do with your page's actual position in the search results.

      One of my client's index page's PR dropped from PR 2 to PR 1 with the last change a week ago.

      However, we more than doubled his sales in 4 weeks. 7 to 16.

      I tell all my clients -- don't chase PR -- chase traffic, "money keyword" rankings, and conversion rates.

    I have read from many expert blog that Page rank usually update in 3 months but previous year in 2010, I didn't feel this. My blog PR updated after 10 months. So, I think it is not possible for anyone except Google, how often pr update.

    It seems that it varies and becomes longer now 2012-2013. Some experts say that Google does not want others know so that they focus on other parameters.

    There are two types of page rank. One that we normally see and use is called "Pseudo Page Rank". This is the one that is publicly available form Google in tool bars or through other sites that use the Google approved code to track page rank. This page rank is updated in approximately 3 months. It could be earlier or late as to the liking of Google guys.

    The actual page rank is how ever only available with Google and changes dynamically. No other body on earth knows the real PR value. This can be any thing like 3.124 or 2.789 not necessarily a whole number like 3 out or 10. When there is a Google PR update this decimal values may be rounded up and exported for public use. Again the rules of rounding is not available with anyone except Google.

    Last updated was on 4th of Feb 2013.

    Normally Google updates PageRank values in the Google Toolbar every 3 months or so. The previous update was in November 2012 and before that in August 2012.

    Some of the pages of www.veethi.com where I am working saw a recent setback in PR even though the traffic is constant. I think we need not worry much about this toolbar PR.
