URGENT: Starting up, need advice!

Starting up with selling DVDs on a niche. Only have USD$800, want to set up a flycatcher page, for now and eventually a sales copy page. Get an autoresponder and the basics done. Not really looking to optimize page ranking as that doesn't seem to be the priority as of yet.

I was wondering where to get quality yet affordable service. Was thinking about oDesk, or elance.com but also heard of kajabi.com(which is USD$99 initially). Which one is better in your opinion?

The flycatcher page is my utmost priority right now as that would bring in the questions that the prospects want answered and also build up a list. Or is there anything else I should be looking at first. Advice?

Lastly, since I'm not from the US my main concern is the time it'll take to fill out the forms to other countries for the shipments to get through customs. Is there a company that shall provide this service affordably? Is it called a fulfillment house?

Thanks loads guys!

Regarding Kajabi, have a look at JV Press or Optimize Press first.

Depends on how you plan to drive traffic to your landing page... I would say with only $800 you have to be very judicious with every dollar you spend.

I hear Kajabi is pretty sweet but I've never used it myself.

I haven't used Kajabi either but heard good things. On the other hand, I would start with traditional methods of driving traffic such as article marketing and videos. Maybe you can write some reviews of your DVDs and submit to Ezine or other article directories. Same for videos.

I am sure you can find good service from those sites you mentioned in your post.

DVDs sell easily online hence the competition is fierce. Even competition for long tail keywords are deep.

        The Elite Warrior,

Is it DVDs your wanting to sell or what?

Cos if you plan on selling DVDs... Then ->>

Your angle needs to change. Dont be silly now or that $800 will be gone quicker then you can say D-V-D.

Cos no one would give you their email adress if they are looking to buy DVDs. my brother is in this market and i can tell you a little secret...

        Sshhhhh

" its all about the price "

          Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies. I've looked OptimizePress.com and I'm quite impressed with their services at a low price.

Well, it's not that I'd go to the DVD immediately, I've looked through Jeff Walker's stuff and honing the list and giving freebies(e.g., videos, newsletters, pdf docs, etc.) in order to obtain their e-mail address. So I won't mention DVDs on the first page. Furthermore, the DVD shan't be someone else's product by my own on a particular niche that I've located.

In terms of price I am going to do price testing to see what price fits best. It's all about the price, but I don't reckon you mean "the cheaper the better". I shall do price testing.

Aside, Ezine is a good tool as well. I might look into Traffic Bug(for SEO rankings) or Tube Mogul for more exposure.

Still confused about what your selling.

            DVD movies?

            DVD how to's?

            DVD adult stuff?

            DVD what?

We cant help you unless we know.

Most people here are too busy with their own niches mate, no one is going to steal your wind bro.

Thanks Andrei. Well, it's a "how to" DVD teaching presentation skills. The content isn't defined yet. I am going to use the flycatcher page to find out what people are looking for and build a how to DVD around that that answers their questions.

The format of the video is undecided yet it's most likely to be in a lecture format perhaps with footage of champion speakers if need be.

A flycatcher page is unlike a squeeze page. I think squeeze page's are only for squeezing in e-mail's, so that's like an opt-in page.

However, a flycatcher page, is moreso like a page to squeeze in people's desire of what a product should include. So, it's basically like a page to gather people's needs/wants and create a product out of it.

Download? How does that work? I mean will they pay on a page and then they'd get redirected to a download page? I can see the benefits in terms of savings from burning discs and shipping it out, but is it safe and where do I get more info. on this mode of sales. Haven't read/heard about it before.

I'm still not sure I understand what you're planning to do with your flycatcher page.

How are you going to drive traffic to that page? And exactly how are you going to gather the opinions of people on your "flycatcher" page? What incentive will there be for them to do so?

You could have a product delivery page where your purchasers can either view the videos directly on the website and/or download it. It will definitely make things much easier than mailing DVDs, especially if you're planning to fulfill this yourself (as opposed to having a shipping company handle this for you).

I am going to use social media sites(facebook, twitter, presentation skills forums) as a platform to drive people to the flycatcher page.

To get people to fill in the flycatcher page, there shall be a video incentive addressing a basic concern that people have about presentation skills. Once they submit their answers, they enter their e-mail addresses and get a video. (If I could get the page after they submit their e-mail to be the video page, I'd do that as well)

Might create a webpage, and use Traffic Bug to release a couple of videos all over internet detailing the tips and have a link below that to get people onto the flycatcher and onto subscribing for another freebie.

        Alright. Thanks for the info.

Are there any major issues with this mode of sales as opposed to the traditional ordering+shipment methodology? and which company provides this technical know-how?

I'm still a little fuzzy on the concept of a flycatcher page (guess I need to read up on this...). Could you link to an example - doesn't have to be yours.

Though, if one of the main things a flycatcher page is supposed to do is basically poll your visitors for what they want (or in essence, help you determine what the market is demanding), then if you're gonna be in forums anyway, why not just do it there ahead of time? Read around to see what problems people are facing, and what kinda solutions they want.

Or, if this kinda thing is cool in the specific forum(s) you're talking about, come out and tell them that you're looking at producing a product to meet their needs, and wanna know what they want. If the forum would look at that as advertising, then take a more low-key approach, and start a general thread like "What are your biggest problems/issues/challenges with (insert subject or whatever here)?" People will come out and tell you what they want.

As far as DVD drop shipping goes, Kunaki is an example. You send them your files, and they produce a DVD on a per-order basis and ship it directly to the customer. You don't have to mess with it at all.

Shall check Kunaki out, but I'm also considering having the download page right after the purchase page as suggested above.

And yes, you're right, the flycatcher page is to poll the needs of the prospects. Good idea with the low-key forum survey shall check it out.

Here you go, I got it off Russell Brunson, but this one is more concise than his 1 hour video:

      ezinearticles.com/?Internet-Marketing-Tips---Fly-Catcher-Technique&id=579360

Would've linked it to the page itself but I have fewer than 15 posts right now...not allowed.

Fly catcher Squeeze page is something Frank Kern and Russell Brunson have talked alot about.

Before you enter into a niche ...you need to do some market research. You ask the customers what they want and you make a product to answer all of the customers questions on that particular niche

        for eg

Russell Brunson setup one of these fly catcher pages which essentially asks people what their biggest question was regarding making potato guns.....in return for this the customer was promised to get a free report or free ebook on making potato guns when it was finished.

once all the questions have been compiled you can make an ebook/video etc answering all those questions.
