Okay, I have been reading on here a LOT about Amazon sites and people making good money from them. I would be happy with $1,000 a month and to some this is chump change but to me this would be life changing!

Last month I made $455 and that was through odesk and I am just about burnt out writing articles for other people. I would rather be writing for myself and having good returns with my articles then writing for others and getting paid one time and have to turn around and do it again to get more money!

So, my question is this, what is an Amazon Site? Do you mind sharing with me what yours looks like and do you really make money from them? Do you make a site for EVERY product you want to promote? Is it a review type site and you have a bunch of random products on it?

I would appreciate any help here! I want to get one started but seem stumped in the "get going" part of this, LOL!

Well, this one will not be spam. I actually have seen a huge bump in my writing biz because of amazon sites. It seems that every other order is for reviews of some type of product on amazon. It is not hard to set up a site and put it all together. I have a few that are making me a little bit of money, but they are not very old.

My advice would be to continue doing what you are doing with Odesk while you build up your Amazon sites. It is going to take about a dozen or so sites to get to your goal, but if you are willing to put in the work, then you can get to where you are making a grand a month with no issue. It will not happen over night however.

My advice is to pick a type of product from amazon you want to do reviews about. Find 10 of them that are similar that have at least a 4 star rating. Then, put together a review for all 10 that you found targeting the product name as your keyword.

Put up a site with wordpress and have each review posted over a period of 10 days. Then, write an article for each product and submit it to some article directories for backlinking. After you get one up it will get easier and you can move on to the next.

Don't worry about the income until you have about 3 months worth of work in on these. Get up as many as you can, then you can go back and build more traffic to the ones that make you the most money.

Okay, so I put up one site and have about 10 products that are similar on it. Does that mean that I put all 10 up right away and then write the reviews over time or do you mean put up 1 and then wait a few days and put up another product? So, each post is just about 1 product and I then do article marketing to direct them to the post of the product review? LOL!! I'm just making sure.

I know it takes time but I would love to be making $1,000 a month by summer time so I can slack off on so much writing! I am so busy writing for others that I have no time or metal energy to write for myself!

It doesn't really matter if you put all the products up over time or all at once. You are eventually going to have to do some sort of backlinking to the homepage and each individual product post.

And yes, generally, 1 post = 1 product.

You can be there by summer if you put your nose to the grindstone. Like I said it will probably take a dozen or so sites to create this kind of income. With wordpress you can schedule your posts so you will want to schedule one for each day for 10 days. You can do this all at once so you don't have to mess with it after you set it up.

When someone refers to an Amazon Site, they are usually talking about a niche site that offers reviews and information about different amazon products.

Here is one of my example sites:
    Laptop Speakers

You make money with them by providing reviews on different products and then providing your affiliate link to each product after the review. And yes, people (including myself), really do make money with Amazon Review Sites.

You usually would make a different review site for different niches. In my example, I have several laptop speakers as options and provide reviews for a few of the top speakers. It really isn't a random bunch of products. You should definitely try to keep a centralized theme.

    Hope that answers your questions.

I agree totally with what Mike is saying but be careful about the way that the posts work out and check them regularly.

You might want to check yours Mike because according to your website I can have delivery of the V20 Logitech speakers by January 21st if I order now.

For the most part, once your site and posts are up, you can move on to the next site. Be sure to give your site and indiviudal posts a good amount of backlinking in the beginning so they'll get some Google love.

Also, I would make sure to check every 2-3 weeks for price changes as well as any discontinuation in products due to newer models coming out or other factors. These sort of changes you want to reflect on your site as well. Sometimes a product is out of stock but it's only temporarily so you have to watch it for the long-term.

Another bit of advice as I just thought about what you said at the end of your post, "I know it takes time but I would love to be making $1,000 a month by summer time so I can slack off on so much writing! I am so busy writing for others that I have no time or metal energy to write for myself!"

I also freelance write as you probably figured out and I budget my time so that I get it done and I also get my own work for me done too. I only allow half my time each week for freelance writing. You may want to try using textbroker.com for your freelance writing or post an ad in the warrior for hire section. I find a lot more business from the forum than anywhere else and textbroker is pretty consistent with good projects as well.

Making money with Amazon works in the same way as making money with any other affiliate program. Create a niche site, provide quality content related to the item you're promoting, and bring in traffic.

I have a couple of Amazon sites in higher ticket niches. They have really low monthly search volume but are highly targeted with a local twist to them. Just because your keyword tool shows zero searches doesn't mean that keyword isn't being searched.
