The biggest secret in IM

Am I allowed to say it in public? I might be thrown out of the secret clubhouse for this.

I think one thing that newbies don't understand is who we're really selling to. We're basically selling to each other and not Joe Blow out there. Once you realize you're selling to other Internet Marketers and not the average guy, you get it all figured out.

Shirley it depends on what you're selling? If you're in the IM niche then yes, but if you're not.....

IMHO the ability to articulate the value proposition with clarity is the secret

    Man that sounded corporate:rolleyes:

It comes as a big shock when you "get" this, doesn't it?

It helps - in some ways - to target one's efforts (IF indeed, you are in the IM niche for your marketing efforts), but in others, it can be pretty disgusting to realise that actually, when these "gurus" show us their clickbank accounts, that there is a line in there showing how YOU contributed to their riches!

There is a lot of excellent free or nearly-free content out there. AND some excellent courses and software. Buy wisely!

I find the whole IM niche rather - can I say it? - inbred. Sure, I have some stuff out there, and I hope I add some value to the market that helps people earn in other niches. But I would kind of like that to remain only a small part of my business and focus on solving people's problems in other areas of life.

It all reminds of the Mad Cow Disease thing in Britain a decade or two ago: cows getting minced up, made into cattle feed, getting fed to other cows, who get minced up and made into feed... round and round, you get the idea (AFAIK that still goes on - still want that steak?) - where does that all lead at the end of the day..?

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

      LOL - awesome!

I'd say IM is 5% of my biz at best, by design. Could that change in the future? absolutely.

I agree in large part with you. Sure it could be product dependent but lets put that aside for now. We sell every day to our relatives and friends without being aware. Things like, "did you hear the latest album from *******" or...

"Oh did you try that new lipstick"... or "did you hear about this product"...

We sell continually. Its not much harder to apply this natural method in IM. No need to sales pitch people. Just have a friendly talk with them is all it takes.

Yes of course if you're selling Amazon products it's different, but I mean with the WSOs and Clickbank products and such.

      Well,

From my perspective, I have to disagree.

I make a nice living but I don't sell a single MMO product at all.

      Nothing.

I was one of those people that decided to go out and make some money online before I decided to sell things to others or teach people, how to make money online.

What I do here is make friends with a lot of marketers better than me and learn off them, that doesn't mean buy off them, it means learn off them.

I guess it depends what you're trying to do.

Yes, yes of course there are going to be anomalies and exceptions to the rule, but I mean overall.

thousands of warriors selling seo and other online related services to offline biz's.

I have a gaggle o offline biz owners learning how to market their offline wares - online using IM tools ...

Adsense? CPA? PPC? 1000's of clickbank pdts for the non IM market. Just because your main stream of revenues ended up being from the IM niche doesnt equate to how it really is. The Offline side of the world is 100x our piddly little micro-cosm of commerce.

If you are talking about WSO's , sure you are right....

    however on a larger scale....Incorrect.

If we are talking about a low ticket Clickbank type offer, about 85% of your demographic has never heard of the Warrior forum and if they did would be completely confused and go away. 85% of you typical demographic is mom and dad with a yahoo email account trying to make some extra bucks.

They will typically buy anything that

1 - are told requires no experience
2 - are told that it is "push button" or "connect the dots"
3 - are told doesnt require alot of work or time
4 - are told that it will make them alot of money in a short amount of time
5 - aren't told specifically what it is in the sales letter. (yep, thats why most low ticket CB sales letters are blind.. survey shows that if you tell them what they are buying that conversions seriously drop by half)

If you need proof, go look at the top ten product on Clickbank e_business and then come look at the reviews for those products here....

connect the dots on that one and then you will start to see the REAL secret.

    :-D

Well I don’t know about that but I can tell you what my experience has been. Based on my experience, 1% of the people on this planet at the age of 5 or 6 know exactly what they want to do in life. So, you don’t want to target them because they won’t listen to you anyway.

The other 66% have no idea of what they want to do and don’t know how do it. If you go after them you’ll going to have nothing but headaches. With this group you are looking for trouble and they ask for lots of refunds.

The last group is roughly 33% of the population. They known exactly what they want to do but don’t no how. Now, this is the group you want to target. Why? They are the decision makers. If they buy a products or services and it does not rise to the level of their expectations they just chalk it up to experience and move on. Generally the refunds are very low.
