WANTED!!! YOUR FEEDBACK ON AN INTERESTING WAY TO LAUNCH A WEBSITE USING FACEBOOK

I had an idea that I wanted to get feedback on.

Background:
There is a particular niche that I would like to work with. There is an individual who started a simple fan page in this niche, which has expanded to over 3.5 million likes. He has on average over 2,000 comments on his posts and they seem to be genuine conversation and dialog. This person then puts posts out selling T-shirts and other items promoting his logos. He seems to be doing pretty well. I have researched this individual and in one of the interviews, they asked how did you build your facebook following. He responded with "I just made my group name a statement that the people could agree with, instead of a group name". For example, "I love cheese pizza". If people loved cheese pizza, they would like the subject. They may not like the subject if it was named "Cheese Pizza Lovers of America." I thought that was very interesting. "Rubbing my chin and staring up at the lightbulb".

Idea:
I would like to start a dating website(Match.com style) in this niche. I plan doing a 45 day launch sequence. I will make videos showing "Real" single people in this niche, and posts these on facebook and different forums. My hope is that these videos will spread within this niche and this will draw people to liking my page. Once they like my page, I will then have videos and posts that lead the single people to a squeeze page that requests their e-mail address. I will then have a timer running on my in progress dating site counting down to the launch day. I plan on stating a goal of having the "largest group of single ______ in the world" to get the followers behind me. I am aiming to have at least 2 million likes on my facebook page. At the point of launch everyone will have the opportunity to create an account on the site, and look at the other single people. Of course, if they want to communicate, they must pay.

Questions/Statements
This is a rough draft of what I want to do. I just had questions and need advice on the following:
1. What is the best way to get the website built?
(Should I go elance or just buy a template)

2. How else can I make money off of a large facebook following?

3. Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be better, or if it is even worth doing.

4. How much would it cost to on average to have the site built?

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
