Could you please recommend a good editor. I was thinking of trying
InFix, but the free version comes with watermarks. Actually, I dont
even know if watermarks are good or not. Do they show up?

Open Office, or is it Openoffice?

It's free and exports pdf files.

OpenOffice or Google Docs. Google Docs are "in the cloud" very convenient.

A lot of people complain about OpenOffice being too big. Is it possible
to download just the Word program and not the others?

As far as I'm aware you have to download the whole thing.

I've used it for some time and I've never heard anyone mention it's size before though, most computers are more than big enough for Open Office.

I think the main thing is, is it too big for you?

There are a few other good suggestons here too if not.

Another vote for OpenOffice. I use it regularly, and am satisfied with it. I also have PDFCreator, but use it rarely.

              All the best,

do you have word 2007? There is a plugin for word 2007 that allows you to make and edit PDF files. Its what i have been using to create mine. It allows anchor text and everything.

Open Office's pdf function works well. Create your document in Open Office and save as a pdf. Great for ebooks.

PDF Creator is the best Open Source product I have found, it is just a print driver so you can use it with any application.

However, I don't think it protects your content from thieves who want to copy and paste or edit your PDF replacing your links with theirs (^£*$^£&##'s)

Used to use this but it was really basic, could not even embed html links.

I would be interested to know what PDF products Warriors use to protect their PDF's from copy & paste or printing to PDF. I have seen some well protected products so I know they exist, just reluctant to pay for yet another editor before knowing it can do the job.

Yes, I am interested in a good product that can edit other people's PDF files and yet keep my resultant PDF's safe at the same time! Does one exist?

The OP seems to be asking about a PDF EDITOR, NOT a pdf creator, which it seems most of the contributors to this string seem to be talking about.....

Master Resale Rights are so versatile, and these are educational, too. All kinds of IM material. Read, sell, break up into articles, combine into bundles, and there are 250 of them, complete with MRR, here for a bargain price! I'm even throwing in the sales page. Only £37 for Warriors. http://www.250mrrproducts.com

They are often the same thing, NitroPDF I think allows editng but it does depend on whether the product was protected.

The Foxit reader is a lot lighter than the bloatware Adobe ships, it does allow annotation which I find very useful.

From your question it sounds like you want to unlock and rip off another persons PDF and then protect it as your own, surely not, I must be reading that wrong?

    Hi Elis,

For simple conversion from Word to PDF, freeware does the job. But it's worth looking at all the things PDF can do if you really want to add dynamic to it.

PDF is not just a document reader, but can add video, music, design.... all kinds of stuff that can enhance communication and there is a great chance you stand above others if you do differently. Once you see what a PDF can do, you might not just want to use freeware.

I get bored easily when I am reading PDF with no thought given to its design... many people give great thought creating the ecover graphics, but give very little thought to the PDF design itself (I am just as guilty). Often adding a simple change to the PDF design that anyone can do, it'll make PDF reading more enjoyable experience.

How about premium Adobe products? Do you have Office 2010? You can build PDF using PowerPoint if you do.
