I just asked for my first Clickbank refund and I am unsure about how to proceed.

I emailed the product vendor and he opened a Clickbank Refund ticket and I got an email.

What do I have to do after this, if anything?

Do I have to tell Clickbank my reasoning for requesting a refund?

Clickbank will look into your request and issue a refund within a few days. You can also look into talking with their support. Use look for it on their site.

Clickbank has an extremely loose refund policy... Developers always complain it's too loose... Buyers complain the products are cr*ppy... I've been in both positions. I can say for a fact that from my multiple CB products.. I had the same "buyer" buy and request refund immediately (my products had low refund rate)... but then again, I have bought a few products where the claims we're just outrageous. Clickbank... such a love/hate relationship.

I think after 5 business days they automatically credit your CC or paypal which ever you used CB is pretty good at issuing refunds.

    Thanks everyone.

The product I purchased was not bad, I just couldn't use it like I had intended.

When I requested a refund, and it has been a long time since then... All I had to do was give a reason through the clickbank support and it was done in a few days.

Mike, "do not feel bad about asking for a refund and here's why". When we buy a book, pen, set of tires, bread, maple syrup, dog food, we have an opportunity to look, see, and feel the product.

When we buy an internet opportunity we are subjected to virtually nothing but hype and little substance but what it isn't. Sure, this new hot marketing plan that is making "Randy" a killing, but I am not too crazy about stuffing fliers under windshield wipers at the Wal Mart parking lot. Some people really take offense to that and I admit I am one of them.

We have absolutely no idea what some of these things are and it may not fit your profile. Internet marketers should understand that or give out some real information. Now not all of these guys are bad, many will tell you their product is about Twitter, Facebook, etc. But, there can still be some "black hat" or other system that could get you really hurt from future involvement with giants like Google, Amazon, and others.

I recall an internet marketer who was furious about the refund rate he was experiencing in a forum about his product. The sales page said "Easily Make hundreds or even thousands a day with a few minutes of fun on the internet". It had a lot of people who wrote gleaming praise like "Hey man, I made $1600 yesterday and $800 today and $5000 last week! Out of curiosity I bought the damned thing, then requested a refund. It turns out, I am not interested in betting on sports in the UK.

Thanks for the advice Ed, but I didn't feel bad about asking for a refund. Nor was it some IM course (I tend to stay away from any IM courses).
