Does anybody know how to make video HD for the new YouTube? I know that it is really easy for MacBook Pro users, what about MacBook and PC users? Thank you! |

One way is to purchase Camtasia Studio 6 It creates HD videos. I'm sure that there are other programs that also do it. Google "create hd videos" Have a Great Day! Michael |

If you want to create a HD video that really is HD, the original recording will need to be in that format. You can run converters and such but you will not get HD results from non HD material. It may look better but it will not be HD quality. If you are making original footage, get yourself a camcorder that records HD. There are many out there that do an excellent job for a pretty reasonable cost. Or if you are using something like Camtasia to create your products, be sure your native screen resolution is the same as HD and capture the screen so that it gives the clearest image possible. I say native reolution because that guarantees that the fonts in your computer were generated to work on that resolution. |

As mentioned in another post, the latest version of Sony Vegas Pro does that. A much cheaper package that does HD is Sony Vegas Movie Studio: Sony Creative Software - Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Edition - Introduction

One more point to be made with respect to YouTube & HD quality... Yes, you can produce high quality video output with Camtasia. You don't specifically need version 6 to do this by the way...almost any version can produce lossless quality. While not strictly "HD", it might as well be when displayed on YouTube... Yes, you can use a HD camera and editing software capable of HD output...great! Now, you have HD or a very high quality video file and you upload it to YouTube. Guess what? YouTube is going to squish and mangle it all up and spit it out in classic YouTube crap quality...unless: You tell YouTube to display it in HD quality! You do this by adding a &fmt=18 to the end of the URL. If you want to use the Embed code instead of just a URL link, here's a little utility that will modify that code for you: Embed Code for High Quality YouTube Videos Have fun! |

I use the regular one. I go to the MENU bar and go to Windows Movie Maker. It works like a charm and it's free to use. Tal |

The reason I was wondering about HD is because I think YouTube is going to switch to HD eventually, meaning they will start using &fmt=18 or &fmt=22 in their default urls... but that's just my personal opinion... Thanks again for sharing, Narek Gabrielyan
