Has anyone had luck with YouTube Marketing?

Are there any of you who post videos all the time and make money from YouTube or get traffic from youtube into your website?

Facebook Vs. YouTube

Who wins?? ...

They are both social media. IS there anyone out there that has better luck with YouTube then Facebook in regards to bringing in targeted leads and traffic?

They work hand in hand in my opinion. Facebook generates leads through discussions and groups. Youtube can be used for a variety of things.

You can upload really good instructional videos to Youtube with your company logo water marked on the screen some where. If you set up 15 videos that get 100 views a month, you are getting 1500 free advertising views a month. Some advertisers pay upwards of $5/1000 targeted views. I'd say you are getting your moneys worth using Youtube because its free.

Thanks dpweb. I was thinking the same thing. I spoke on "Social Video Marketing" once and in doing so , i summed up that same thing. Social media can work together, and now that facebook has so many more applications available, everything can be connected.

As of now, i get equal traffic from facebook and youtube.

Do you think Facebook has more of a buzz right now then youtube?

    Was YouTube last year?

Some people simply won't join Facebook because of their own personal reasons - I actually know quite a number of people who are anti FB. However, every person I know, including those anti-FB people, use YouTube... so I guess it depends on which target market you are going for? I think both are equally good if you've executed the techniques well.

Great discussion. I don't always see a lot of forward-thinking discussion on WF. It's usually very "present" (which is understandable; that should be one's foundation). One thing's for sure: I like the idea of using my time to master something that will still be important and useful TOMMORROW. Better to be ahead of the curve than behind.

Love those ideas about YouTube channels becoming the new personal hub, DP.

There's a very nice guy here called Roy Penrod.

You may have to look him up. I know he's a bit of a whizz at Youtube marketing, he's currently doing a project for me and is in the process of creating a course.

He's a very smart, helpful, honest decent guy, which means a lot to me.

Not sure if he'll come into this thread but it may well be worth sending him a PM.

Forward thinking is the key to online success. If you think you might have an idea for a .tv, now might be the time to get the domain. Be careful though, .tvs cost more than .coms

IM is like a chess game. You don't plan move by move, you plan strategy by strategy. You have to already know what your next three-four moves are if you want to trap someone. You also need to predict or persuade their moves in a beautiful dance called strategy. The same principles apply to IM.

Thanks again, DP Web! I'll definitely keep my eyes open for your posts around WF from now on ! We're both fairly new here but I have a feeling that I will have a better shot at succeeding at "IM Chess" if I take note of your insights

YouTube is great for sending traffic.

With my main site I spent an hour a day doing SEO trying to rank Number 1 for my main keyword. It took me a year.

All the time I was making a video a week - and I always had a video showing on Page 1.

Eventually I gave up the SEO and just carried on with a video a week. I get 15% of my traffic from Google - the rest is either direct or from the 'Toob.

This year i plan to start integrating Facebook into my Video Marketing efforts....personally I think you start with video, and build out.

      Paul:

I missed your analysis at first---glad I took a second look. You really bottom-lined it. Your experience would suggest that we master YouTube before we worry too much about SEO. Thanks.

Everyone has to do what's best for their own business. There are a lot of people who will shout down what I'm about to say....please note that I'm totally cool with that, you do what you think is best for your business and I'll do what's best for mine. That out of the way here it is...

I don't worry about Google. Ever. Or SEO.

I just concentrate on producing quality content and creating relationships with other website/business owners. That takes care of getting traffic just fine in my experience. The time NOT SPENT on SEO activities allows me just to produce content....if you're content is better than your competitors AND you produce more of it, AND you promote it well....you'll do just fine without Google than you.

(Funny thing is, as I've done this I've started getting Google Traffic for long tail keywords that I've never even targeted. Win-win).

Again, this is the strategy I take. Other people will be different. Vive le difference!

          Paul:

From my perspective--being "hypnotized" by all the jargon to the point of sort of keeping me OUT of IM the last few years---your post is TREMENDOUS ! I am really attracted to the idea of using "SEO time" to concentrate on producing quality and content and BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS. That fits the "way I run" anyhow.

I found your honesty to be very liberating and timely. It's no accident that I changed my avatar to "Truth Seeker". You can be one who was willing to say "The Emperor has no clothes" when none of the other serfs dared, as the parable goes

I for one am glad that you are on WF. You will be doing everyone a service if you continue to demystify essential issues that may be distracting or paralyzing people.

I am more of Facebook today. But Youtube has its own audience though it is just that I think it is Facebook who has the better 'buzz' right now.

I am new here, but just wanted to say I found this to be an interesting topic with some great content provided by DPWeb, polrbearz and paul wolfe. I have been using Facebook up to now but having followed caseyzeman through his website I recently took the step to open a Youtube account.

I would be interested to learn more about using youtube having gained a good insight from casey, can anybody point me in the right direction where to find such information?

    Thanks

    Martin

Is it offtopic to say that youtube is a fantastic parasite?

SEOing a youtube page might be the easiest way to rank. 100's of millions of domain links and they're owned by google. Most volume searches display a youtube video (block) so just fire a variety of links at it. Should be ranking in a week if you've dropped the keyword in the title of the video and got some content (description or comments)on the page.
