What is the right keyword numbers look like?

INTERNET MARKETING

How do I pick the right keywords to target or how do I make sure that the keywords I'm targeting is good.

I just need the basic numbers.

10k visits per month? (is the Global or Local in Google Keyword Tool)
how much competition is good / bad?

How do I determine the commercial intent?

I will do this manually as I can't afford Market Samurai right now.

Think like a buyer.

I use a lot of intuition when looking at the numbers and stats. If there is a science to this, I'll let someone else comment and suggest.

I personally got involved in the very high competition keyword as I like challenges and would not content myself with less. Its up to you to judge what you'll do next but lets see if someone has a scientific approach to choosing the right keyword... What would the buyer type as suggested in previous post is one of many factors to consider.
