How Do You Make Money With A LIST

I have recently created a list of around 400 leads now....

I tried to sell them a few stuff and Im not getting much feedback...

Im really new to list building, I dont really sell much to them, and I do give them lots of value but when I do sell no one buys!!

Does anyway know the method for email marketing??

And can I really start making money with only 400 leads??
#list #make #money
  • Yeah, you definitely can make money with just 400 leads. A reseller of mine makes about $5k per month with a similar number.

Are those targeted leads you have?
How frequently did you contact them from the moment they signed up?
Did you give them some kind of freebie to get them to sign up?
What is the format of your emails?
Are you pushing the same offers all the time?
Did you build a relationship with them? Lot's of factors to reach high earnings with a small amount of people on your list, or any amount for that matter.

      • Alright, that sounds like a good start then.

How frequently do you email them?
Did you compare the results of writing your own sales pitches and using the email provided by the product vendor (in case he provides one)?

Maybe you're just not good at writing compelling copy, no hard feelings.

I'm not on your list so I'm shooting in the dark a bit.

Have you ever hear a preacher or speaker who just spouted facts and expected you to buy the rest of their pitch? It never works.

There are 'magical communicators' who can take the most mundane life story and weave it into a lesson that everyone can relate to.

Learn to do this and it can be like printing money.

I belong to 20-25 'guru lists' and they try to fake this - it doesn't work. I have a friend who can do this effortlessly - he has no list or sales aspirations but when he tells a story everyone listens and would buy anything he'd want to sell.

Study people like this, their communication style and transfer it to your list. I've asked my friend how he does it? You have to find stories that are true, impact you personally and be totally transparent (because it's true). People can 'see' the sincerity.

    yeah thats true

Youre right there ive never done email copy so I wouldnt know, Im sending any crap and thats why its not working probably....

But I sure do know how to build a relationship, I can also presell in videos, but not so good with the writing stuff....

Do you know the best way to write the copy, or is the vendors emails good enough??

If not do you recommend any courses for email marketing....

cheers mate, so really appreciate your help

    Thanks Dean,

Im gonna be honest with the story telling stuff, and the "subliminal" pitch at the end by suggesting im great at.....

But I seriously suck at writing!

Also these guys have not been on my list for to long, its been about 2 weeks now so they are fresh, so im thinking that may be another reason....

A list that size should be making you money. Congratulations so far and in just a couple of weeks. You are doing well.

An error some people make is giving away too much value with their mailings. I don't know if this is you or not. But if you give too much, the clients come to expect that you will give them everything they want so why should they pay for it. Your mailings should be a good mix of free and for sale.

Remember that nobody likes to be sold but people still love to buy.

So if your mailing establishes a reason for why someone in your niche would need something, state the problem. Then discuss the benefits to them for having the problem solved. Then say you know about this because you had that problem and you solved it with X. Anyone with a similar issue might want to check it out.

No sales just information. You are just telling a bunch of friends what worked for you.

    Hi Louise,

It sounds like your list is still young so they might not know if they can trust you yet. Have you asked for feedback? Give them a couple questions, ask if they need help, etc. Be yourself, crack a joke, tell a story like Dean suggests above.

Write your emails like you're writing to one person - a friend/marketing aquaintance. That takes a bit of the pressure off to write a masterpiece.

I find I sell more affiliate products to my list when I do a case study using the product and post the results on my blog. Then direct them to the blog.

    Good luck!
    Peggy

Ive have a few responses, and then I answered the questions in videos...

I think youre right they are fresh and they dont trust me yet....

    thanks for your cool advice

One thought I had was "Is this a list of buyers or just readers?" I don't know what your niche is, but that might make a difference. Perhaps the keywords you are targeting, the angle you are taking.

Also, I'm aware that you often need a minimum of 5-7 exposures for people to be ready to buy. If you have only had them for two weeks, you may not have had sufficient chance to expose them to your offers.

Also, are you just throwing a lot of different things at them, or are you focusing on one product right now to pique their interest and show them how helpful it can be? A consistent approach will also help you look more professional and trustworthy.

I am trying my hand at building a list for the first time.

I already crafted my emails. In the emails I focus on just telling a story while providing value and recommending some products along the way.

I haven't had any traffic yet so I do not know if it will work or not.

    How did you drive traffic?

The first list I ever built was not a money maker. I came to the realization later that I was targeting those that wanted free tips, tricks, and hints but I wasn't targeting actual buyers.

It was a joke :-)... I see we all have our comedy censors on.

So let's look at our list, and how you make money from that list... I like to give my list some hard core value, mixed in with recommendations of products AND notifications of my launches.

For example, if you bought one of my products, I would warn you about my next product, intermittently sending you some cool stuff.

I care about my list... It's like a list of friends :-) and I want to give them the most value.

Run a newsletter. In the newsletter, you can communicate both value AND products. It teaches your subscribers to expect something from you every week and make life easy for you too.

      Y'know,

That is one of the smartest things I have heard today. Paul Myers {talkbiznews.com} does that and it does really well, and many warriors enjoy reading it -- and I like the model.
