Have no clue how to set up a rss feed for my blog?

How do I do this? I dont personally use rss so Im not that well versed with it.

I see other blogs with cool little icons for rss. Perhaps there is a plugin that will automate everything.

I tried to add the rss feed widget to my side bar & it asked me for my rss URL? I imagine that its different than my domain URL, correct?

It sounds like you are using Wordpress.

    Try http://www.yoursite.com/feed

You're right that should be it if he's using Wordpress, then he just needs to sign up for a Feedburner account to replace it.

He could leave it, but Feedburner is far more powerful and has numerous other benefits.

If you're using Wordpress, the first thing you probably want to do is sign up for a Feedburner account.

A wordpress blog automagically generates it's own feed. Just because it doesn't have the cool little icon doesn't mean it isn't there.

That sidebar widget is for importing feeds from other places.
